Salaman Rushdie and M F Hussain

In the Aftermath of Jaipur Literary Jamboree there has been lot of brouhaha about Salaman Rushdie & Co...Most of the Talks/Articles/Discussions have compared this to the miasma about M F Hussain's paintings. No One repeat not a single soul has tried to analyze the distinctions between these two Fiascos. I would begin with a caveat that I neither support any vandalism of the so called Artistic portrayal of Hindu Goddesses nor the fatwa of Deoband's against Rushdie. I took my time to respond as i wanted to familiarize myself with the epicenter of this brouhaha i.e. The Satanic Verses. This book is available in PDF form easily downloadable free of cost. There are certain major differences in the ground realities of these two fiascos.

1) M F Hussain a Muslim and an Indian citizen living in India, a Hindu majority (80% plus) nation painted Hindu goddesses in a manner that could cause hurt to the sensibilities of a large segment of the majority community.

2) Now to understand the situation better let us extrapolate the Names,Nation and Religion. Let us presume one Mr.M F Sharma living in any of the 57 Muslim majority nations creates a few portraits or writes a book that could hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims. The probability of this Mr. M F Sharma living till 95 would be extremely remote.

3) Mr Rushdie is an Indian Origin British national Muslim writer.He wrote a book supposedly lampooning Prophet and his wives. Most of it is Metaphorical and in the words of the author, the book is not about Muslims or Prophet. Rushdie’s interpretation of his book, is that “it was not about Islam, but about migration, metamorphosis, divided selves, love, death, London and Bombay”. He has also said "It’s a novel which happened to contain a castigation of Western materialism. The tone is comic”. Yet Government of India was the first State to Ban the book (Import and selling of it) most probably without anyone reading it. It was obviously a ‘Knee Jerk’ reaction to placate the Deoband like elements.

4) The State i.e. Government of India never banned M F Hussain’s painting.The people vandalizing paintings were prosecuted for criminal offence. The state did not Kow Tow the line of Sri Ram Sene.

5) Sri Ram Sene is a fringe body with no support from any of the mainstream groups. State has taken action against the so called supremos of Sri Ram Sene. Deoband is a lot more main stream Islamic organization and has following in the whole of South Asia and Middle East. All Indian Ulema & Mashaikh Board (AIUMB) a Sufi group, had alleged that seminaries like Darul Uloom Deoband get funds from Saudi Arab.

6) In the recent Brouhaha of Rushdie, state did “kow tow” to the Darul Uloom’s wishes of not allowing Rushdie step foot in India. Even his video link was not permitted in difference to the noise emanating from the Deoband Darul Uloom.

7) The commentators said that the state did not provide security to Mr M F Hussain. The senior most functionary of the state Union Home Secretary, GK Pillai, had said that MF Husain was free to come back and would be provided security if he requested it. No one caused him any physical harm,nor was he threatened with any Fatwa by any of the “Rightist” organizations. Certain cases were filed against him, Even this could be a despicable act yet perfectly within legal parameters. Several cases in Delhi High Court were dismissed in 1998. He migrated in 2006.

8) M F Hussain migrated to Qatar IN 2006. The Income Tax rate in Qatar is ZERO. .Mr Hussain struck a deal with Mr Guru Swarup Srivastav an industrialist to sell his 100 paintings for Rs.100 Crores in 2004.The total Income of Mr G S Srivastav’s company was little over Rs.One Lakh in the previous year as stated by IT authorities. Mr Guru Swarup Srivastav has been arrested several times and intensely investigated by Enforcement Directorate and IT authorities since 2005. Mr Hussain migrated in 2006 to Qatar. I do not know of any connection in these facts/ incidents.

पिछले दिनों कुछ ताजा तरीन घटनाओं से अनुतप्त हो सरकार ने सोशल नेटवर्किंग के माध्यमों पर रोक लगाने की पेशकश की। कहा गया कि फेसबुक या गूगल जैसे माध्यम सरकार की आलोचनात्मक टिप्पणियों पर सेंसरशिप लगाये या बन्द किये जाने के लिये प्रस्तुत हों। भारतीयों की जुगाड़ ढुंढने की कला ने सरकार के इस फरमान के तोड़ के लिये एक और चिर परिचित आजमाया हुआ अभिव्यक्ति का सशक्त माध्यम ढुंढ निकाला। इस माध्यम को बन्द करना भी अत्यन्त दुष्कर था। यह नया माध्यम था जूता या पादुका।
जूता परिधान का वह अंश है जो खुलने के बाद ही दिखता है। जूता अपनी सहज अवस्था में तो अद्दृश्य रह कर ही पांव को ढंकने का काम करता रहता है। हां असहज अवस्था में पांव से निकल जब हाथों में दृष्टिगोचर होता है तब किसी न किसी ढंके हुये को नंगा करने की भुमिका में अपना योगदान कर रहा होता है।
सर्वप्रथम जूते की भुमिका को त्रेता युगीन पौराणिक ग्रन्थ रामायण में वाल्मिकि ने चित्रित किया था। भरत अपने बड़े भाई राम की श्रद्धा में अवनत अयोध्या की राजगद्दी पर भाई राम चन्द्र्जी की पादुका या जूते को ही राम का प्रतीक बना, आसीन कर देते हैं। राम की पादुका के परोक्ष से स्वयम पास के गांव में रह, राज्य संचालन करते हैं।
आज कलयुग में भी भाइयों के कई ऐसे उदाहरण मिल जायेंगे। अब अयोध्या की जगह मुम्बई को रख कर देख लीजिये। राजा यानि जिसका मुम्बई राज्य के लिये राज्याभिषेक हो रखा है, वह 14 वर्षों से बनवास या दुबई वास भोग रहें हैं, और मुम्बई में उनकी पादुका के परोक्ष से अन्य “भाई” उनके राज्य यानि मुम्बई का संचालन कर रहें हैं। यानि यहां जूता “भाई” भक्ति की अभिव्यक्ति है।
इस उपरोक्त समीकरण को महज variables बदल कर दिल्ली या इस्लामाबाद तक CURVE को extrapolate किया जा सकता है। धुरी या axis भी वही बनी रहेगी और सत्ता में जूते की भुमिका भी।
द्वापर युग में पहले तो श्री कृष्ण, पाण्दवों के यज्ञ के दौरान, आगन्तुकों के जूते सहेजते हैं और युग के अन्त में स्वयं जूता नहीं पहने,नंगे पांव होने के कारण एड़ी में तीर से आहत हो अपने प्राण गवांते हैं।
कलियुग एवं 21 वी सदी में जूता दो जगह दिखता है। मन्दिर के बाहर या किसी जिन्दा व्यक्ति के हाथ में। मन्दिर के बाहर जूता आपके अहं का प्रतीक है। जिस तरह आपको अपने अहं के साथ भगवान के दर्शन नहीं हो सकते उसी त्तरह जूता पहन कर आपको किसी भी मन्दिर के भगवान के दर्शन नहीं हो सकते। अतएव मन्दिर के बाहर पड़ा जूता व्यक्ति के अहं की अभिव्यक्ति है। जूता या अहं त्यागिये और प्रभु दर्शन से लाभान्वित होने के लिये कतार में आ जाइये।
जिन्दा व्यक्ति के हाथ का जूता इन दिनों काफी चर्चा में है। 21 वी सदी में जार्ज बुश से शुरु हुयी जूते की गाथा हमारे गृह मन्त्री पी सी चिदाम्बरम के पड़ोस से गुजरते हुये हाल में युवराज के सुरक्षा चक्र को भेदते हुये अपनी गण शक्ति को अभिव्यक्त कर गयी। यहां जूते की खासियत है कि इच्छित निशाने पर न लगने के बावजूद लक्ष्य भेदने में अर्जुन जैसी अचुक क्षमता है। पिछले दिनों चलाये हुये सारे जूतों की TRAJECTORIES अपने निशानों से दूर ही रहे।
इसके बावजूद भी इन चले हुये जूतों के mass communication की क्षमता अपार रही है। आवश्यकता है mass communication महाविद्यालय के पाठ्यक्रम में जूता चलाने की कला पर प्रशिक्षण देने की। इससे जनता जूता चलाने का RETURN ON INVESTMENT भली भांति आंक कर ही जूता चलाये। बुश पर चले हुये जूते के कीमत एक महानुभाव ने बीस लाख तक आंकी थी। कहते हैं कि जिन्दा हाथी लाख का तो मरा सवा लाख का ।इसी तरह पांव में पहना हुआ जुता कुछ सौ या हजार का लेकिन चल हुआ जूता कई लाख का। शोध का विषय है कि चलने के बाद जूते का सेंसेक्स इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि लक्ष्य पर कौन था। यानि जूते की कीमत बाजार इस कसौटी पर आंकता है कि जूते की TRAJECTORY के निशाने पर कौन था। यहां पर कोई आरक्षण की प्रणाली भी नहीं है। लक्ष्य की TRP ही जूते की कीमत आंकती है। तभी तो बुश जैसे खास व्यक्ति पर चले जूते की कीमत 20 लाख और आम आदमी पर चले जूते की कीमत ?? आम आदमी पर जूता कौन चलाता ? उसे तो सिर्फ आधी रात को जूतों से रौन्द दिया जाता है। आम आदमी पर जूता चल जाये तो कम से उस कम बेचारे को नंगे पांव तो “इलाहाबाद के पथ पर पत्थर नहीं तोड़ने पड़ेंगे”।
कहते हैं कि “जाके पांव न फटी बवाई,वो क्या जाने पीर पराई”। आज 21वीं सदी में नेतागण से अपेक्षा रखें की जूते न पहनें और पांव में बवाई फटने दें ताकि वे जनता की पीर को समझ सकें, यह तो अन्याय है।ये बवाई का फटना और जनता की पीर समझना ये तो का नाटक के प्रथम चरण के सीन हैं। दूसरे अंक से तो पांव में जूते आ ही जाते हैं फिर काहे की फटी बवाई और काहे की जनता की पीर।
आज के नेता गण की एक और बेबसी है कि चरण रज तो जूतों के चलते अब रही नहीं । पहले किसी व्यक्ति के नेता बनते ही उसके चरण कमल हो जाते थे और उसकी चरण रज मात्र से जनता कृतार्थ हो जाती थी।। अब जूतों की रज से लोग आतंकित भले ही हो जायें कृतार्थ कोई नहीं होता।
एक बहु चर्चित पुरानी कहावत है कि जब बाप का जूता बेटे के पांव में आने लगे तो बाप को पुत्र के साथ मित्र वत व्यवहार आरम्भ कर देना चाहिये। इसी कहावत को आगे बढ़ाते हुये कहा जा सकता है कि अब जब जनता का जूता नेता के सुरक्षा चक्र तक आने लगा है तो नेताजी को भी मालिक का पद त्याग बकौल स्वामी विवेकानद “दासस्य दासम” का पद अख्तियार कर लेना चाहिये या दिग्गी राजा का सुझाव मान जूते पर भी फेसबोक सम बन्दिश लगा ही देनी चाहिये। अन्यथा इस एक अभिव्यक्ति के माध्यम की शक्ति अन्य सारे सोशल नेटवर्किंग माध्यमों से भारी पड़ेगी।

What They Do not Teach You at IIM.

Let me confess I never wrote the CAT examination, consequently never attended any B school. I was fortunate to spend those two years on the shop floor of an Industry, instead of learning hundred different Jargons in a B school.
It may sound preposterous yet it is true that in India, it pays to be uneducated to be an Entrepreneur . A Diploma or a Degree from IIM would stand you good in getting a Fat Pay Cheque as your starting salary. It would be of little help for you to be a successful Entrepreneur. It may rather be a hurdle. I did a random check on the worlds Ten Richest people. The most common Academic Qualification was DROPOUT before Graduation amongst these successful Entrepreneurs.
The Header of the Blog has been lifted from a book written by Mark McCormack in 80’s.His book had an American background and the title was “What they don’t teach you at Harvard”. The Tag Line of Harvard Business School is Veritas or Truth. The tag line of any institute is expected to be an abbreviated form of the MISSION of said institute. This taglines is misleading. If all business is to be based on Truth, sadly all the advertisement agencies in the world would have to close shop pronto. In war they say TRUTH is the first casualty. In Business activity the chessmen are Street Smartness,Strategy, Courage, , Façade, Fraud, Deception etc. There is just no chessmen carrying the name of TRUTH in the game of Business. In India you show me One Successful Entrepreneur who swears having never paid any bribe and I would show you a LIAR. Unalloyed Gold can never be crafted into a jewel. It has to necessarily carry some impurity to be usefully crafted. A little bit of corruption is the soul of Business. Business would be dead without this soul. So the AXIOM taught in B schools that “Clean Business is Good Business” is only a euphemism and not a reality.
The Tag Line of IIM A is Vidya Viniyoga Vikasaha (progress through knowledge). All IIM or any other B School student are well aware of the IDIOM that “Knowledge is the currency of 21st Century.” Believe me it is a Tag Line to hustle their college seats and to finagle their own pay cheques PERIOD. Progress in India is through Networking and not through Knowledge. Whom you know is HUNDRED times more important that what you know. Borrowing from Bible (Matthews.19:24) "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle through contacts, than for a Super Genius Un Networked man to enter into the kingdom of God."Otherwise Mr Ratan Tata would have had no need of hiring Neera Raadia.
Drawing from my first hand experience, I was told once by a Senior Bureaucrat that in Odisha at least, to succeed as an Entrepreneur it was imperative that I had a Senior Politician or a Senior Bureaucrat as a GODFATHER. He was surprised as to how I was surviving ? Hence the Rule: To succeed one needs God Father / Net working aka Neera Raadia and her ilk.
Corporate Social Responsibility: All that talk about the Society being a stake holder is merely an IDOL to be placed with reverence on the Altar. Thirty-five years ago, Milton Friedman wrote a famous article for The New York Times Magazine whose title aptly summed up its main point: "The Social Responsibility of Business Is to Increase Its Profits."Mostly under the guise of CSR the corporates pay ransom money to you know who, or to Curry Favor from senior Bureaucrats or to placate Politicians etc., Yes at times in the name of CSR activities some Image Building Exercises are undertaken too. In all cases either it is to directly increase profits or for Corporate image building.The entire façade of Corporate Social Responsibility is similar to the inane rhetoric mouthed by the beauty pageant participant. They swear by Mother Teressa and ape Rakhi Savant. Corporate Magnets parrots Bytes viz., “In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but is in fact, the very purpose of its existence”, in the press conference. Soon thereafter has a cocktail dinner and yields to the whims of Local Authorities or those of the Relevant Political Leaders in the name of CSR.

मैने कक्षा सात में एक निबन्ध लिखा था कि “साहित्य समाज का दर्पण होता है”। वह सन 1966 की बात थी। बचपन से ही हिन्दी में खासे लम्बे लम्बे निबन्ध लिखता था।
आज 2011 के भी अवसान का समय है। तकरीबन 45 साल के बाद श्री कपिल सिब्बल जी के वक्तव्य कि हमें यानि भारतीय सरकार को फेसबूक,व गूगल जैसी सोशल नेटवर्किंग वाली साइट्स पर नियन्त्रण की आवश्यकता है, सुनकर अपना वही 45 वर्ष पुराना निबन्ध याद हो आया। महामन्त्री जी कहते हैं कि इन साइट्स पर किसी समुदाय विशेष पर की गयी टिप्पणियां किसी की धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचा सकती हैं। मूलतः अल्पसंख्यक समाज की धार्मिक भावनाओं की रक्षा व ठेस लगने की अवस्था में उपजने वाली हिंसा का विषय प्रतीत होता है। चलो यहां तक तो सरकार पर सिर्फ अल्पसंख्यकों की तुष्टीकरण का दोष ही दिया जा सकता है। और यह तो भइ कांग्रेस की नीति तकरीबन् पिछले एक सौ वर्षों से रही है। जिन्ना के मना करने के बाद भी हमारे अत्यन्त आदरणीय गान्धी जी तक ने खिलाफत आन्दोलन का समर्थन सिर्फ और सिर्फ राजनीतिक लाभ के लिया किया था।
लेकिन आज तो फौरी मीडिया का युग है। कपिल सिब्बल जी के संवाद की स्याही सूखने के पहले ही गूगल का खुलासा आ जाता है कि पिछले एक वर्ष में भारतीय सरकर ने गूगल की साइट से जिन कथनों को आपत्तिजनक कह कर साइट्स से हटाने की मांग की थी, उनमें से 60% की वजह थी कि वे सरकार की आलोचना कर रहे थे व अन्य 10% किन्ही नेताओं की तथाकथित मानहानि कर रहे थे। धार्मिक विषयों पर की गयी टिप्पणियां जो सरकार की नजरों में आपत्तिजनक रहीं हैं,उनका आंकड़ा महज 2% का है। यानि कहीं पर तीर कहीं पर निशाना। सरकारी मंशा व सरकारी वक्तव्य में बहुत फर्क है। यह सीधे सीधे प्रेस की अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतन्त्रता पर अंकुश लगाने का प्रयास है। औपचारिक मीडिया को “मैनेज” करना तो आसान है। आज के उपभोक्तावादी युग में हरे नोटों की गड्डियां व कुछ विशेष सुविधायें यथा सरकारी जमीन का मुफ्त के भाव में आंवटन या सी बी आई या एन्फोर्सेमेन्ट डाइक्टरेट का खौफ आदि द्वारा किसे नहीं खरीदा जा सकता। न्यायाधीश से लेकर सामाचार पत्र समूह के मालिक सब तय कीमतों पर अपना विवेक या अपनी चेतना गिरवी रखने को तैयार है। हकीकत भी यही है कि आज भारत में पैसों द्वारा खारीदा जा सकने वाला सर्वश्रेष्ठ मीडिया है। फिर चाहे वह प्रिन्ट मीडिया हो या इलेक्ट्रानिक मीडिया सबने बोलियां लगा रखी हैं।
इन्टरनेट व सोशल नेटवर्किंग साइट्स तो चौपाल है। यह एक मात्र वह मीडिया है जो आम आदमी की बात को बिना किसी लाग लपेट या मुलम्मे के बेलाग कहता है। चुंकि इस मीडिया की दरफ्त में करोड़ों की संख्या में लोग आते हैं, इसे खरीदा नहीं जा सकता। सिर्फ बन्द किया जा सकता है। पिछले दिनों पाकिस्तान ने भी फेसबुक पर कुछ समय के लिये रोक लगा दी थी। वहां तो फिर भी धार्मिक भावनाओं का प्रश्न था ,हज़रत मोहम्मद साहब की तस्वीर बनाने का मुद्दा था। यहां तो सिर्फ आइना दिखाने का मुद्दा था अब कपिल साहब नहीं नहीं उनके आकाओं को (कपिल साहब तो महज HMV हैं)समाज की ये हिमाकत बर्दाश्त नहीं हुई और दर्पण में दिखने वाली छवि पसन्द नहीं आई तो छवि को सुधारने के प्रयास की जगह दर्पण को तोड़ना अधिक सहज लगा।
आजादी की बेला यानि 15 अगस्त को गान्धी जी ने स्वाधीनता की परिभाषित करते हुये कहा था कि “स्वाधीन होने का अर्थ यह नहीं है कि सत्ता गोरों के अपेक्षा कालों के हाथ आजाये। वरन किसी भी गलत के विरोध करने की एक इकाई की क्षमता ही उसकी स्वाधीनता है।“
महाथीर मोहम्मद (इन्डोनेशिया के राष्ट्रपति) का वक्तव्य की भारत में गणतन्त्र की मात्रा चीन से अधिक होने के कारण भारत की प्रगति चीन की तुलना में कम हो रही है को एक साथ पढ़ने से एक द्वन्द सा मन में उठता है कि, क्या यह गणतन्त्र की व्यवस्था ही गलत है।
इसके उत्तर में मुझे द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के सक्षम नेता श्री विन्सटन चर्चिल की उक्ति सहज ही उभर आती है कि “गणतन्त्र एक निहायत ही बेकार व बेहुदा किस्म का सरकारी ढांचा है लेकिन इसके बावजूद यह आज तक के अन्य सारे आजमाये हुये प्रशासनीय ढांचों से फिर भी कही बेहतर है”।
कुल निष्कर्ष यह है बहुदलीय गणतन्त्र की कुछ कीमते हैं। यहां हर इकाई को अलग अलग कर गिनना या उसकी सहमति का महत्व है। हमारे संविधान में इस स्वतन्त्रता की समुचित व्यवस्था है,व इसके साथ साथ स्वतन्त्रता के नाम पर उच्छृंखलता करने वालों के लिये दण्ड का भी सहज प्रावधान है। महाथीर जी के वक्तव्य की सच्चाई को आंकने के लिये कुछ गहराई में उतरना पड़ेगा। हां भारत में प्रगति की दर में गणतन्त्र कहीं कहीं बाधक होता रहता है। गणतन्त्र का अर्थ ही हर एक इकाई को अपनी बात कहने का अधिकार है और प्रशासन को उसकी बात सुनने की जिम्मेदारी। मेधा पाटकर अगर किसी प्रोजेक्ट के विषय में कुछ कहती है तो प्रशासन उसकी बात सुनने को बाध्य है।सिर्फ बहुमत द्वारा शासन गणतन्त्र नहीं होता।
मीडिया अगर सरकार की आलोचना कर रहा तो सरकार के लिये प्रसन्नता का विषय है कि मीडिया आजाद है। स्वतन्त्र मीडिया अच्छा या बुरा कुछ भी हो सकता है,लेकिन जो मीडिया स्वतन्त्र नहीं है,वह महज् बुरा ही होता है।
अभी टीवी पर अकबर जोधा आ रही थी,व कीबोर्ड पर यह ब्लोग चल रहा था॥दोनो के संयोग से एक बात जो उभर कर आयी वह यह है कि संविधान गणतन्त्र को जन्म जरुर देता है लेकिन प्रेस की स्वतन्त्रता ही गणतन्त्र की दाई मां (फिल्म जोधा अकबर का एक मुख्य किरदार) होती है। गणतन्त्र को जिन्दा रखने का सारा दारोमदार इसी प्रेस की स्वतन्त्रता नामक दाई मां पर ही होता है। सिब्बल साहब दर्पण को तोड़ देने से महज “FAIREST OF THE ALL” का भ्रम पाला जा सकता चेहरे पर लगी स्याही नहीं मिटती। सन् 75 के आपातकाल को दोहराने का प्रयास न करें।इसका परिणाम सन् 77 में ही भुगतना पड़ गया था।

One Time CEO cum President cum General Mr Parvez Musharraf now in the role of a Fugitive was feeling restless. His Studio hopping in London was causing more rancor than anything else. Being Unemployed was a very painful existence for a one time ALL-IN-One, the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient of Pakistan.
Feeling low and Bored Mr. Mush started looking up Job Options. The first stop in this search was ofcourse News papers. Sadly these being days of Recession in West, there were more News of “Lay Off”s vis-à-vis Job Placements. Feeling dejected he started surfing his own mobile contact list. Hoping there could be some one, just some one there, who could help him for OLD time sake. Knowing fully well that return to Pakistan was fraught with Major Risk, he had to look up his Foreign Contacts.
While surfing the Contact List he suddenly saw a ray of hope in the name of Mr. Man Mohan Singh.He did have his personal cell number. Man Mohan Singh while visiting Pakistan had given him his cell number and assured him of all necessary assistance anytime.
Instinctively he called MMS immediately to ward off the impending gloom. The cell rang and was picked up by a very sleepy MMS.

Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhh I am extremely sorry Mr MMS, I did not take into cognizance of the time difference between Delhi and London. However should I call you later, or could I speak now.

Parvez Mush: Ok I do realize in India it is not viewed favorably.I do have the experience of being the President of a nation for a decade.Your Prez is also due to retire shortly. Give me asylum now and you would have proper Trained incumbent for your Next President. Just taking salute from your army officers in Republic Day parade would be a great high. I would forego my one months salary for the said KICK.

“भारत भवन में आग लग गयी है। जल्दी आइये।”

मुखिया मनमोहन जी चल पड़ते हैं अपनी लाल फायर इन्जिन के साथ
बढिया लाल रंग की नयी फायर इन्जिन है
सन् 2009 में नयी खरीदी थी
साथ में सहायक के रुप में पूराने खुर्राट दादा प्रणब हैं
मध्य रात्रि के समय जा पहुंच ते हैं भारत भवन के सामने
पुरानी इमारत है और धू धू कर जल रही है
मनमोहन जी सर खुजाते हुये पूछते हैं
भाई लोग बतायें क्या किया जाये
प्रणब दादा जो कि सबसे अधिक अनुभवी है सबसे पहले फूटते हैं
इस आग पर पानी डालिये
पानी डालने से आग बुझ सकती है
तभी दूसरे सहायक चिदाम्बरम जी कहते हैं कि
पहली प्राथमिकता तय की जाये तब ही तो उपाय या जुगत सही बैठेगी

“साहब,एक टैंकर भरने का ठेका कालमाडी जी को दिया गया था और एक राजा को।
दोनो ने सारा पानी अपने अपने घरों की टंकी में भर लिया और टैंकर खाली छोड़ दिये।
तो साहब अब तो भारत भवन की आग भगवान भरोसे ही बुझेगी”।
अब सेक्युलर संविधान के तहत् भगवान को पुकारने में भी परेशानी हो रही थी।
कौन से भगवान को पुकारा जाये,किधर मुंह कर गुहार लगायी जाये।पूरब या पच्छिम।

खैर भारत पर सारे ही भगवान हमेशा से ही कुछ विशेष मेहरबान रहें हैं। एक शायर ने भी लिखा है कि
“कुछ तो बात है कि हस्ती मिटती नहीं हमारी
सदियों रहा है, दौरे दुश्मन जहां हमारा”
अचानक बिन मौसम ही जोरों से बारिश शुरु हो गयी और भारत भवन स्वाहा होने से बच गया।
जान माल व लोग दोनो ही विशेष किसी नुक्सान से बच गये।
अब जब काम पुरा हो गया चाहे भगवान भरोसे ही तो बारी प्रेस कांफ्रेन्स की थी।
पांच विशिष्ट समाचार पत्रों के सम्पादकों की मण्डली बुलाई गयी।
मनमोहन सिंह जी ने सारा अग्निशमन का सारा श्रेय युवराज को देते हुये कहा कि उन्हीं की सारी सूझ बूझ है।
हमें तो बिना पानी आग बुझाने की कला अच्छे से आती है।
इसके पहले रामलीला मैदान में आग लगी थी। वह भी हमने पानी से नहीं डण्डे से आग बुझायी थी।
अब देखो हमारी इटालियन फायर इन्जिन का कमाल कि भारत भवन की आग भी हमने खाली टैंकरों से ही बुझा दी। एक अड़ियल किस्म के सम्पादक ने प्रश्न कर दिया कि “साहब ये जो टैंकर खाली थे इसके विषय में भी आप कुछ कहिये। किस की भूल का परिणाम है यह”। अब इस प्रश्न पर वहां उपस्थित प्रणब दादा ने उत्तर दिया “देखिये आप मन मोहन सिंह जी की भूल का प्रश्न उठा कर उनकी कार्य कुशलता पर सन्देह कर रहें हैं। इनकी कार्य कुचलता पर प्रश्न नहीं उठाइये। एक दर्जन नामी गिरामी विश्व विद्यालयों से इन्होंने अग्निशमन के विषय मे डाक्टरेट हासिल की है। वह भी पूरी इमानदारी के साथ परीक्षा पास करके। इन से अधिक तकनीकी दक्षता अन्य किसी में नहीं है।“
दूसरे सम्पादक ने पुछा” डिग्रीयां तो ठीक लेकिन ये श्रीमान राजा एव कालमाड़ी जिनको ठेका दिया गया ,उनके विषय में क्या तहकीकात की गयी थी”।
तहकीकात शब्द से प्रणब दा सकते में आगये। बौखला कर चिल्ला पड़े अरे भई वह तो चुइंगम का मामला था।
मनमोहन जी ने स्थिति को सम्भालते हुये कहा कि “भई यह तो युनियन का मामला है कि किसको किस चीज का ठेका दिया जाये और किस को नहीं। अगर मुखिया की कुर्सी सही सलामत रखनी हो तो युनियन वालों को तो खुश रखना ही पड़ेगा”
मनमोहन सिंह जी ने सभा से रुखसत होते हुये कहा कि भाइयों काकटेल पार्टी अटेण्ड कर ही विदा लीजियेगा बाकी आगे की प्रेस कांफ्रेन्स मेरे साथी दिग्गी राजा सम्भालेंगे।
अब यह तो मेरा ही दोष है कि मुझे मनमोहन जी के हाथों में बांसुरी गिखायी दे रही थी और शक्ल पर सम्राट नीरो
का अक्स नजर आ रहा था। ”

A BIGGER MALADY: BIOGRAPHY OF ANOTHER CANCER
Recently one Indian origin author Mr Siddharth Mukherjee received a Pulitzer Prize for his one Non Fiction Book namely "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer". It is indeed a work of great excellence and helps in understanding Cancer in its different dimensions. In the wake of recent happenings I believe there is an equal need of writing of another Biography of another Cancerous Malady which is still Bigger in its dimensions i.e. Indian National CANCER also known as CORRUPTION.
A biography must begin from Beginning. If we do not take cognizance of the Mythological Tales and Pauranic stories for the purpose of this article, we can safely begin with one of the most important work of Historical Importance “ARTHASHASTRA” by Kautilya or Chanakya. This book was written about 2300 years back. It chronicles Corruption as follows:
1) A King must pay at least pay 4800 Panas (the then currency) per year to its ministers failing which they will be likely to fall prey to corruption and indulge in one of the three or all three corrupt deeds,
a) They will ally with the enemy nation
b) They will steal from the treasury
c) They will harass the citizens.

2) There is another nugget from the same source:
For the king to find out whether his ministers are stealing from the treasury or not is as difficult as it is to find out if the fish swimming in a Pond has drank water from the said pond or not.
In the current status the above statements ring as true as they did 2300 years back. Human beings and the state do not seem to have changed a wee bit in these Two and Half millennium’s interregnum.
To day the ministers or the MP’s or the law makers for the nation draw a salary (even after the recent raise) of Rs.80,000.00 per month. A fresh IIT or IIM graduate takes home more than this. The salary of the Senior most Bureaucrat is around Rs. One Lakh per month, many of the fresh graduates would frown at this salary.
Today after the said interregnum of 2300 years the malaise is much deeper. Leave aside Ministers and Bureaucrats Even the Kings have not been above suspicion. The shadow of corruption has loomed large over several of the Top Most Functionaries of the Government. The dictum that the King must be as clean as Ceaser’s wife does not hold true any more. The Judiciary stands IMPEACHED, the CJI’s have been called names in writing by the most RESPONSIBLE citizens of the State. The fourth estate i.e. the PRESS stands in the docks with the revelations in NEERA Radia tapes. The Corporate world never had a very clean image. Making money through Enterprise was never held in high regards till a couple of decades back. Today the Corporate world stands exposed in an extreme embarrassing or compromising position, once again courtesy RAADIAGATE. A detailed analysis of these tapes can do a comprehensive BIOPSY of this Indian National Cancer. I fail to understand why the media and every one else is silent over this RADIAGATE. Where are our “DEEP THROATS”.
Suddenly the issue of combating CORRUPTION has taken Centre Stage and it has gained TRP even Higher than that of Bollywood Gossip the HOLY GRAIL of the fourth estate. Not only front page it has made ingress in the all important Page 3 too. It has become the flavor of the season with the celebrities rubbing shoulders with the Hoi Polloi and the riff raffs of the Nation. Leaving aside the debate of Supremacy of Parliamentarians over the electorate and right of few so called Pseudo Terrorists in the garb of Civil Society doing a Kandhar once again after a decade, I would like to get down to the nitty gritties of the issue of all pervading Cancerous Corruption. Synthesizing the concepts of the Triumvirate of Lincoln,Anna Hazare and Shashi Tharoor one can define Indian Democracy as a Government Of the Corrupt, For the Corrupt and By the Cattle.
Writing this article in the morning of 28th August of 2011, one has to tread with caution. All the Newspapers are streaming with a minimum of a TWO inch Headline that ANNA wins and Parliament bows to the wishes of People. Are we witnessing a Historical moment which is likely to be a water shed event in the course of the History of our ARYAVRAT. May it be so and may the Ram Rajya of Gandhi’s dreams begin to take roots. The little educated Anna has called it as a second battle of Independence. It is expected to be a surgical intervention and remove the cancerous cells from the essential organs of the body of India.
Gandhi (of the original version) had said: “I do not accept the transfer of Power from Whites to Browns as Independence. True Independence is the Ability of an individual to resist a wrong”. And truly ANNA’s effort do fall in this domain. May his breed multiply.
I said Tread with caution, because such surgical efforts have miserable track record in India. In 1974 a very recognized activist/surgeon namely Jai Prakash Narayan had tried a surgical intervention to treat this National Cancer under the guise of TOTAL REVOLUTION. The patient succumbed in the ICU itself. Again in 1987 another surgeon had laid his claim and the patient did not survive the Operation Table even.
Cancer cells proliferate and do not die in an orderly manner as against healthy cells that die and proliferate in an orderly manner. Corruption in India is akin to cancer cells proliferating in an uncontrolled manner. Corruption is the mother of all evils. Without combating it substantially, the developing nations would always remain developing nations and would never be able to cross the threshold. In 1996, then-World Bank president James D. Wolfensohn declared that, for developing countries to achieve economic growth and poverty reduction, “we need to deal with the cancer of corruption.”
People in power say Corruption is a Universal phenomenon and try to justify or brush it under the carpet in our own country. Corruption like bacteria has a threshold level. The body can sustain certain levels of it without falling ill. Beyond that one may catch cold or some other ailments. When it rises to certain epidemic proportion it become cancerous and fatal. Today India ranks 87 in the Transparency International’s ranking of Corruption Index. The Corruption has indeed reached Cancerous levels. Let us hope this THIRD surgical intervention cures the patient by removing these cancerous cells from the body of India and we transform into a Developed nation from a Developing Nation. We wish to become a Super Power by 2020 as envisioned by our Ex President Mr A P J Kalam. It would be a Utopian dream without reducing corruption to manageable levels. Elimination too may be tried some time in distant future. Todays agenda should be to control the Pollution and make the environment livable.

Fidayeen and Islam

It is surprising that the FIDAYEEN or suicidal attackers of the World Trade Centre come from educated and privileged families. Had they been from the underprivileged class, their behavior could have been attributed to pecuniary benefits – as mercenaries, while if they lacked education, it could had been perceived that their minds had been fodder to mass propaganda. But their backgrounds indicate that they were committed fundamentalists harboring the firm conviction that theirs was a deeply religious act- it was God’s work that they were doing, and their death or suicide would open Heaven’s doors for them. They were people who had fought for religion and died for religion- but they had not LIVED RELIGION. The mass murder of innocent people can never be termed as JIHAD or a Dharmayudha.

In all sects, religion is an individualistic process. It involves the merging of one’s consciousness with one’s unconsciousness, to emerge into a psychic totality. This is what is termed as ADWAITWAD in the Vedant. Religion is the symbolic expression of GOD. Where is the place for assault or mass murder in the name of religion or of GOD? Bigotry is born out of half-baked ideas about religion. By and large, people believe and are goaded by a façade. The Bible says, “Letter killeth, spirit saveth”. By misinterpreting any scripture, it is not difficult to lead the uninitiated masses towards religious bigotry and fundamentalism. It is the spirit of the text alone that can be a safeguard for humanity. Hence, it is imperative that saner elements should become more vocal in all the mass media and steer people away from fanatic elements. Value-based education from kindergarten level can alone protect people from being misled.

When the followers of any religious sect say that their book alone contains the ultimate truth it cannot be questioned or added on to, it is a dangerous sentiment fraught with pitfalls, and is likely to cause immense damage. Spiritual wisdom involves the right to question, add and deduce, and this right is the only insurance against dogma. Any emancipated religion must always welcome such investigative analysis.

Jihad is principally a conquest of one’s self over one’s inner self, i.e. one’s bad qualities. Unfortunately, both in Europe in the past (the holy crusades) and more recently in the Middle East (Islamic fundamentalism), the two codified principal religion- Islam and Christianity, have been used as a camouflage to serve the interests of the rulers. The Crusades and jihads were used as convenient tools to further theocratic, fundamentalist, dictatorial regimes. Most of the so-called Jihads in history were born out of bigotry, improper understanding of the scriptures, warped interpretation, and Goebbelian brain washing by interested parties.

There have been several examples of martyrdom or suicidal missions in history. Martin Luther King had said, “If you do not have a cause worth dying for, your life is not worth living”. Martyrdom is achieved through acts of self-sacrifice and not thorough acts of mass murder and destruction. One striking example of a suicidal mission is that of Guru Tegh Bahadur – the ninth Sikh Guru. He went to the Mughal emperor or Aurangzeb’s court to protest against the oppression and forcible conversion of Kashmiri Hindus, knowing fully well that his effort was suicidal. He sacrificed his life for the cause without resorting to killing or destroying any edifice.

People use religion as a façade to demonize people. Today, there are two principal faces of religion. One spreads love and transforms people from within, while the other spreads hatred and demonizes people. All other labels are superficial. The shape and forms of icons, and the varied rituals attached to each religion are irrelevant. The only cognizable substance is the message conveyed by each religion. Today, unfortunately, the ugly face of religion is more visible than its real face.

We Indians have a special responsibility to correct the course of history. India has been the conscience keeper of the world- the depository of ancient wisdom. Multitudes of emancipated, noble men were born here, strived to give a proper vision to humankind, spread their fragrance and left behind a lasting legacy of eternal wisdom for us to delve into. The clarion call needed for society today is neither Allaho akbar nor Jai Bajrang Bali It is this:TAMASO MA JYOTIRGAMAYAHA

कतिपय मुट्ठी भर सिरफिरे हिन्दुओं के द्वारा की गयी चन्द वारदातों, से करना महज एक राजनैतिक दांवपेंच से इतर कुछ भी नहीं है। यह वोट बैंक की राजनीति और कुछ करे या न करे हिन्दु मुस्लिम समाज में एक विषम खाई पैदा करने में जरुर समर्थ होगी। और अगर हर आतंकवादी घटना को धर्म की दृष्टि से देखना शुरु किया गया तो माओवाद को क्रिस्चियन आतकवाद की संज्ञा देनी होगी। अन्ततः अधिकांश माओवादी आदिवासी जनसमुदाय से आते हैं और इनमें इसाइयों की संख्या सबसे अधिक है। आश्चर्यजनक तथ्य यह भी है कि इस हिन्दु आतंकवाद का आभास सिर्फ कांग्रेस दल को ही क्यों होता है। आम आदमी को क्यों नहीं। तथाकथित हिन्दु आतंकवाद के केन्द्र बिन्दु गुजरात में भी मुस्लिम वर्ग अन्य राज्यों में बस रहे मुस्लिम समुदाय की अपेक्षा अधिक खुशहाल है। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि युवराज और पाकिस्तानी सेना में कुछ सांठ गांठ है। पाकिस्तानी सेना ने वहां की आवाम को भारत का भय दिखा पिछले पचास वर्षों से अपनी सत्ता कायम कर रखी है। उसी के प्रारुप में युवराज भारतीय मुस्लिम समुदाय को भाजपा व संघ का भय दिखा अपनी सत्ता बनाने के प्रयास में है।
इस भय की नकारात्मक राजनीति से राज्य चला कर किसी उन्नति की अपेक्षा मूर्खता है। प्रगति तो भय मुक्त समाज की ही सकती होती है। पाकिस्तान में विगत पचास वर्षों से सैन्य शासन भय की धूरी पर ही घूम रहा है। प्रतिफल है कि पाकिस्तान की अन्तरराष्ट्रीय छवि एक FAILED STATEFAILED STATE की हो चुकी है। खेद है कि युवराज ने भी एक FAILED STATEFAILED STATE STATE को ही अपना प्रेरणा श्रोत माना है।
यहीं से गणतन्त्र का ह्रास आरम्भ होता है। राष्ट्रवाद व हिन्दुत्व एक ही सिक्के के दो पहलू हैं। एवं
हिन्दु धर्म में भय के परित्याग पर विशेष बल दिया गया है। जननी जन्म्भूमि स्वर्गादपि गरीयसि कहने वाला एक मात्र धर्म हिन्दु धर्म ही है।स्वर्ग की परिकल्पना एक धार्मिक उपक्रम है। इस स्त्रोत के द्वारा राष्ट्र को स्वर्ग के समकक्ष रख हिन्दू धर्म स्वतः राष्ट्रवादी हो जाता है। भयमुक्त जनता ही राष्ट्र के हित में सोच सकती है।
यहां 26/11 घटता है तो अन्तुले जी के मार्फत से भगवा आतंकवाद का नारा लगवाया जाता है। चलिये एक विहंगम दृष्टि डाल देखा जाये यह भगवा आतंकवाद कितनी बड़ी समस्या है। इस देखने के लिये अगर आप कांग्रेस की दृष्टि अपनाते हैं तो राष्ट्रीय स्वय सेवक से जुड़े या उससे सहानुभूति रखने वाले जितने भी लोग हैं वे सब तो आतंकवादी की श्रेणी में खड़े मिलेंगे ही, इसके अलावा हर वह व्यक्ति जो प्रत्यक्ष रुप से हिन्दु संस्कारों का कोई भी प्रतीक धारण करता है,यथा तिलक या शिखा वह स्वतः सन्देह के घेरे में आजाता है।तथ्य यह है कि आजतक जितने भी तथाकथित भगवा आतंकवाद की वारदातें हुयी हैं,उनमें से एक वारदात में भी आरोपपत्र तक दाखिला नहीं हो पाया है, आरोप प्रमाणित होने की बात तो दूर है।
आजादी के पहले कांग्रेस पर जो भी आरोप मुस्लिम लीग लगा रही थी आज कमोबेश वे सारे इल्जाम कांग्रेस भा ज पा पर लगा रही है। जिन्ना ने गांधी जी तक को हिन्दु नेता के विशेषण से सम्बोधित किया था । आज वैसी ही मानसिकता कांग्रेस की हो चुकी है। मुस्लिम लीग के ऐसा करने के पार्श्व में भारत के विभाजन की इच्छा थी। कांग्रेस वोट की अन्धी दौड़ में उसी दिशा में प्रयाण कर रही प्रतीत होती है। गान्धी जी ने हिन्दु मुस्लिम के अलग अलग चुनाव क्षेत्र का सख्त प्रतिरोध किया था। अंग्रेजों ने DIOVIDE AND RULE की नीति के तहत इस कानून को लागू किया था। उसी तर्ज पर सच्चर कमिटि, मुस्लिम वर्ग को धर्म के आधार पर आरक्षण उसी DIOVIDE AND RULE प्रक्रिया की एक और कड़ी है।
एक धर्म निरपेक्ष राज्य में धर्म के आधार पर आरक्षण की सोच एक मानसिक विकृति की द्योतक है। आज मुस्लिम वर्ग,कल सिक्ख वर्ग,परसों इसाई,पारसी,बहाई तत्पश्चात् इनकी अलग शाखायें पता नहीं कितने भागों में बंटेगा ये भारत। एक फ्रेंच शासक ने कहा था “BE THERE DELUGE AFTER ME. यानि मेरे बाद चाहे प्रलय आ जाये ,मुझे क्या। क्या इसी विचार से यह विकृत राजनीति के संकेत नहीं प्राप्त हो रहें हैं। यह चुनाव सलट जाये,सत्ता मिल जाये,प्रतिफल में चाहे देश जाये भाड़ में।
नीरा राडिया तो आतंकवाद से भी अधिक गम्भीर मुद्दा है। आतंकवाद की घटनाओं में आंचलिक मार करने की क्षमता है लेकिन नीरा राडिया जो कि मूलतः सरकारी तन्त्र,कारपोरेट जगत,मीडिया,न्यायप्रणाली यानि समाज के चारों पायों में लगी दीमक की सुचक है,इसकी क्षमता आतंकवाद से सौ गुनी घातक है। इस OMNIPOTENT,OMNIPRESENT भ्रष्टाचार पर युवराज की कोई टिप्पणी नहीं है। नीरा राडिया जिस रोग की SYMPTOM हैं,उसने तो पूरे देश को नागफांस की तरह ग्रस रखा है। सर्वादिक साफ छवि की बात करने वाले और दिखने वाले श्री रतन टाटा की छवि भी दागदार हो गयी है। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है सब ने चेहरों पर महज मुखौटे बांध रखें हैं। एक नकली चेहरा लगाये घूम रहें हैं और हमाम में सारे नंगे हैं।
सबसे अधिक दोष मीडिया का है । हर छोटी बड़ी घटना पर गणतन्त्र की दुहाई देने वाले मिडिया ने इस सत्ता के हाट में खुला कर दांव खेले हैं। करेले पर नीम यह की भेद खुल जाने पर सारा मीडिया चुप मारे बैठा है,मानो उसे सांप सुंघ गया हो। मैंगलोर के पब में एक घटना घटती है,मीडिया सारे देश को हिला कर रख देता है। यह “राडियागेट” उससे सहस्त्र गुनी बड़ी घटना है लेकिन चुंकि हम(मीडिया) स्वयं आरोपी हैं तो कोई कुछ नहीं कहेगा।
उधर कांग्रेस का महाअधिवेशन चल रहा है,इस सारे प्रकरण में सबसे अधिक सत्ता पक्ष निशाने पर है। तथापि सारे अधिवेशन में नीरा “राडियागेट” पर प्रधान मन्त्री या सोनिया जी कि तरफ से एक शब्द नहीं आता है।
भारत में भ्रष्टाचार की मात्रा काफी अधिक है,यह तो सर्वविदित है लेकिन अगर दलगत राजनीति के तहत सरकार के पास सिर्फ वोट की राजनीति एवं आगामी चुनाव जीतना ही एक मात्र लक्ष्य है,तो शासन के नाम पर सिर्फ नाटक की ही अपेक्षा की जा सकती है। और अगर नाटक ही करना है तो फिर संसद को सिनेमा एवं टी वी के कलाकारों से भरना बेहतर होगा। वे दिखते तो बेहतर हैं हीं और राजनीतिज्ञों की तरह उनका पेट इतना बड़ा भी नहीं है कि 1,76,000 करोड़ हजम कर जायें।
चलते चलते मेरा यह सारा प्रलाप लोमड़ी के अंगूर खट्टे सम है। भय्ये खेद तो इसी बात का है कि हम क्यों नहीं इस लायक हुये कि हमार नाम भी राडिया टेप में सुन जाता।

गृहमन्त्री जी का राहूकाल
आजकाल हमारे गृहमन्त्री जी का राहुकाल चल रहा है। और सिर्फ राहुकाल ही नही शनि दशा का भी प्रभाव है। इसीलिये बौखलाहट में रस्सी को सांप समझते हैं और असली सांपों से मारे डर के मुंह छिपाते घूम रहें हैं। आतंकवाद में शेष दुनिया को जर्द होती हुयी इन्सानियत का सफेद रंग दिखता है, इन्हें भगवा रंग दिखता है।
अब राहुकाल को दूर करने के लिये कुछ उपाय करने भी आवश्यक लग रहे थे। नींद में भी बुरे बुरे सपने आ रहे थे। कभी काश्मीर कभी माओवाद व कभी 24 सितम्बर को आने वाला अयोध्या मन्दिर मस्जिद मुकदमे का फैसला। आधी रात को पसीने से नहाये हुये उठते और अपने ग्रहों को कोसते। पहले जहां क से कुर्सी दिखती थी अब क से काश्मीर दिखने लग गया था। पहले ह से हार्वार्ड समझते थे अब ससुरी ह से अपनी ही हारी हुयी शक्ल दिख रही थी।
मरता क्या न करता चले किसी खेवनहार की तलाश में। एक नये बाबा चुनावी कुम्भ में नये नये उतरे थे । नाम राहुल बाबा । बहुतों की नैया पार लगाई थी। आजकल इनके दिये मन्त्रों की बड़ी चर्चा थी। पहुंचे उनके द्वारे कुण्डी खड़खड़ाई। पता लगा बाबा अपनी ही किसी स्पेनिश समस्या के समाधान हेतु अमेरिका गये हुये हैं। खैर मन्त्री जी ने सोचा कि इस कुटिया में तो मिट्टी में ही मन्त्र बसते हैं। बाबा का कोई छोटा मोटा चेला हो तो भी कुछ न कुछ तो बता ही देगा। इस कुटिया में रहने वालों ने कभी किसी विद्यालय या महाविद्यालय की दहलीज तो लांघी नहीं थी। निराली कुटिया है। इस कुटिया में बस जन्म लेने की या कुछ समय भर रह लेने से सारे मन्त्र,उपचार स्वय ही आ जाते हैं। बड़े बड़े पढ़े लिखे सरदार यहां शीश नवाते हैं।
तो मन्त्री जी ने वहां उपस्थित माली से ही पूछ लिया। भैये तुमे इस परिवार के साथ विगत 40 वर्षों से हो।राहुल बाबा भी 40 के ही है। इस घर की छाया तुम दोनो को बराबर ही मिली है। अब तुम ही कोई मन्त्र सुझा दो। माली ने आनन फानन में गृह मन्त्री जी को भगवा आतंकवाद का मन्त्र दिया। कहा जब तक राहुल बाबा अमेरिका से वापस नहीं आजाते तब तक इसी मन्त्र से काम चला लीजिये। । श्री चिदाम्बरम जी ने तुरन्त मीडिया को बुला भगवा आतंकवाद के मन्त्र का जाप शुरु कर दिया। इस मन्त्र के सहारे कुछ दिन नींद भी आ गयी।
राहुल बाबा के आते ही पहुंच गये गृह मन्त्री जी बाबा के दरबार में। पहुंचे तो पाया कि राहुल बाबा अपनी मां के सामने “मैं तो वही SPANISH खिलोना लूंगा” के अन्दाज में बिफरे हुये नजर आये। मन्त्री जी समय का तकाजा समझ अपनी उपस्थिति नही जता बाहर खड़े रहे। अन्दर भारत की सबसे विषम राष्ट्रीय समस्या पर चर्चा हो रही थी। राहुल बाबा के नहीं हो रहे विवाह की। माताश्री राहुल बाबा को समझा रही थी । कि उनके विदेशी मूल के होने की वजह उनके प्रधान मन्त्री बनने में बाधा बनी। अब अगर राहुल बाबा भी अगर एक विदेशी SPANISH सुन्दरी से विवाह कर लेते हैं तो उसके एवज में उन्हें सत्ता सुन्दरी से निश्चित ही हाथ धोना पड़ेगा। उदाहरण से समझा रही थी। राहुल बाबा तुम तुम्हारे पिता के देहान्त के समय इक्कीस के थे। सन 2003 में जब तुम राजनीति में उतरे 33 के थे।ये बीच के बारह वर्ष बेरोजगार हो एम्प्लायमेन्ट एक्सचेंज के चक्कर काट रहे थे। अब जब अपने पारिवारिक व्यवसाय में Board of Directors में जगह मिल ही चुकी है फिर सिर्फ और सिर्फ अपने पारिवारिक व्यवसाय को सर्वोपरि मानो। शेष मुद्दों को गौण।
खैर चिदाम्बरम जी ने भी खांसते हुये कुटिया में प्रवेश किया। राहुल बाबा की माताश्री की भारतीय सरकार में वही स्थिति है जो महाभारत में श्री कृष्ण की थी। यानि धर्म संस्थापनाय संम्भवामि युगे युगे। चिदाम्बर ने मादाम से अपने राहु काल से निकालने का कोई उपाय सुझाने की प्रार्थना की। फिर अपने हाथ भी बंधे होने की गुहार लगाई। इस इतनी बड़ी विपदा से बंधे हांथों से किसे निबटा जा सकता है मदाम कृपया आप ही कोई रास्ता बतायें। मादाम से निवेदन किया कि राहुल बाबा तो साक्षात् अश्वमेघ यज्ञ के अश्व सम हैं। इन्हें काश्मीर भेज दीजिये। हुरियत तुरन्त इनकी मिलकियत स्वीकार कर लेगा।
मादाम ने गृहमन्त्री जी से कहा कि अश्वमेघ यज्ञ तो शायद यहां नहीं चले। अगर हुरियत वालों ने राहुल रुपी अश्व को ही बांध लिया तो परीस्थिति सांप नेवले की हो जायेगी। अन्य कोई उपाय बतायें राहु काल से निपटने का। अब मादाम आप ही तो भारत में एक मात्र श्री कृष्ण हैं तो गीता का पाठ तो आपको ही पढ़ाना पड़ेगा।
मादाम: भई सच्चर कमिटी के सन्दर्भ में अल्पसंख्यकों को कुछ विशेष अधिकार तो हमें देने ही होंगे। उन्हें तो बम व ए के 47 तक चलाने के अधिकार दे देने चाहिये । अब बम एवं ए के 47 से अगर वे पत्थरों पर आ गये हैं तो सुरक्षा बलों को कहिये कि चुप चाप पत्थरों की बौछार सह लें। आई एस आई इन पत्थरबाजों को 300 रुपये दिहाड़ी दे रही है,आप सैन्य बलों को पत्थर खाने की 400 रुपये की दिहाड़ी दे दीजिये। और हां सैन्य बल के लिये पत्थर खरीदने की निविदा क्वात्रौच्चि को दिलवा दें।
तभी उनके सुरक्षा सलाहकार श्री शिव शंकर मेनन जी भी वहां पहुंच गये। उन्होंने बताया कि सुरक्षा बल पत्थरों की बौछार सहने के लिये प्रस्तुत न्हीं है, तो अब और कोई जुगत भिड़ानी होगी। मादाम ने चेतावनी स्वरुप फरमाया कि ,खबरदार आप चिदाम्बरम जी के हाथ खोलने के अलावा ही और कोई सलाह दें अन्यथा हमें और कोई नया सलाहकार तलाशना होगा।
राहुल बाबा ने अपनी जुबान खोली। देखिये सारी समस्या पत्थरों की बौछार की है।तो ऐसा कीजिये कि घाटी में एक भी पत्थर नही मिले। तो क्या उठायेंगे और क्या फेंकेंगे। मादाम ने बड़े गर्व से अपने बेटे को निहारा। कहा देखिये बिना हाथ खुलवाये ही अपको आपकी समस्या का निदान मिल गया।
मेनन जी ने मादाम जी की ओर मुखातिब होते हुये उन्हें भारत के मनचित्र से वाकिफ करवाते हुये उसमें काश्मीर दिखाया। कहा मादाम वहां तो पूरी हिमालय पर्वत की श्रींंखला है। पत्थर खत्म करने के लिये तो पूरा हिमालय ही साफ करना पड़ेगा। अब यह काम न तो राज्य सरकार के बूते का है न केन्द्र स्रकार के बूते का।
राहुल बाबा ताजा ताजा ओड़िशा दर्शन कर लौटे थे। वहां से अर्जित अनुभव के आधार पर उन्होंने अपना सुझाव दिया। क्यों न हम हिमालय पर खनन करने का अधिकार वेदान्त उद्योग के अध्यक्ष श्री अनिल अग्रवाल को दे दें। कुछ न कुछ पार्टी फंड में धन भी आजायेगा। और उसमें हिमालय को साफ कर देने की क्षमता भी है। न हिमालय रहेगा न पत्थर तो यह समस्या आराम से सुलझ जायेगी।
या फिर इसके अलावा तो बस एक ही उपाय है कि श्री चिदाम्बरम जी एक विशाल हवन का आयोजन करें। समिधा में भारत का स्वाभिमान फूंक हुरियत के देवताओं को प्रसन्न करें। ऊं स्वाभिमान स्वाहा, ऊं सैन्य सुरक्षा बल स्वाहा, ऊं पांच लाख शरणार्थी हिन्दु स्वाहा, ऊं संविधान स्वाहा, से शायद काश्मीर के नव ग्रह शान्त हो जायेंगे।
मेनन जी फूटे, लेकिन अन्य समस्याओं यथा माओवाद,मन्दिर मस्जिद का क्या निदान है मादाम्। गृहान्त्री जी के हाथ तो यहां भी बन्धे हुये हैं। मादाम ने झुंझलाते हुये फरमाया कि मैं सोचती हूं कि मैं मेनन जी के स्थान पर अरुन्ध्ती राय को भारत का सुरक्षा सलाहकार नियुक्त कर देती हूं। राहुल भी तो वहीं से सीख कर आपको सुझाव दे रहा है। उनके पास ऐसी सारी समस्याओं का शर्तिया सुझाव रहता है।
अब चिदाम्बरम जी को महसूस हो रहा था कि शायद हवन का सुझाव ही आज की परिस्थिति में सर्वोत्तम रहेगा। निकल पड़े समिधा इकट्ठा करने हेतू। ऊं गणतन्त्र स्वाहा। ऊं अखण्डता स्वाहा।

SITA AND DRAUPADI

I boarded the train from Delhi to go to Himalayas. I entered my coupe in First Ac, apprehensive about my co passenger. After all though have had several experiences of travelling alone willingly or otherwise yet each time the apprehensions were always there just below the surface waiting to break in.
The coupe was empty. It was nearing time for the train to depart and hence the other passenger should be arriving sometime soon. I purchased a copy of my favorite Women’s Magazine and settled down near the Window. After about couple of minutes another woman entered the coupe. She looked very different from the so called “conventional woman”. Tall, Stately and carrying herself with a Gait that would border on Arrogance. Yet her manners were impeccable. She did wish me “A Good Evening” as she was entering the coupe. Her thick long hairs could be envy of any woman. Like me even she was travelling light. It was good though a bit apprehensive to have such a companion in the train.
She began the conversation asking me if I travelled alone frequently. Well I said both Yes and No. I have travelled alone on a few occasions, yet never out of choice. She looked at me deeply as though measuring me for my words and said well we women have to bear with all sort of travails. Then she asked me where my spouse was. This was the moment I was afraid of. How could I tell her that I had been humiliated by my spouse grossly. Thence I had left him and chosen to walk away.
There was no way I could lie. So I merely ignored the question, to be answered maybe at an opportune moment i.e., once I knew this person better. It was a sufficiently long journey to familiarize with each other. I asked her where she was going. She just coolly said the final abode. And she was travelling alone as she had supposedly sinned. Now I knew her from periodicals that she was Draupadi.Panchali the wife to Five Husbands. I asked her about her sins, as she was so forthcoming about it. She said that Gods have condemned her of the sin that she loved Arjun more than her other Four Husbands. Hence she had fallen from the grace of God. She was much agitated about the issue and asked me” Could I i.e. Sita, as another woman say how and why does a woman love one more than others. Is there must be a reason for a woman to love, to love more, to love less. An emotion borne out of logic can be anything but Love”.
I said “I agree. Love is spontaneous. It is just a Flower of life. It blossoms unexpectedly. It is to be enjoyed and not analyzed. Analyzing it as a cause/effect relationship is demeaning love”
She said “Well she fell in love with Arjun, at the Swayamvar itself. His resoluteness and conviction did cast a spell on her. He had won her by shooting the Bird in its eye. The other brothers were mere beneficiaries of their mother’s blind wishes.
Suddenly I could not stop my self. I asked what made her abide such strange “SUGGESTION/DICTAT” of her mother in law. She said I had seen and gauged each of the five brothers as incomplete individuals. Though each was a great person yet quite incomplete. One was good in intellect or Dharma yet Naïve and impulsive. The second was only brawn no brains. Arjun the warrior her favorite too was devoid of much intellect. Nakul was extremely pretty and little else, whereas Sahadev was an Intellectual yet not a man of action. So when my Mother in law’s strange wish dawned on me, I did not revolt, but was exulted by it. Felt triumphant that I would have the attention of Five such exceptional persons and in Sum companionship of ONE COMPLETE MAN.
She told me well I do recognize you too. You are Sita the eternal victim. You have been the “unwilling yet Chosen” victim of the war where as I i.e., Draupadi was the provocateur of the war. You the Sita suffered silently, I Draupadi did not take the Humiliations lying down. My long Untied Tresses were the provocateur of the MAHABHARAT. I actively sought revenge to assuage my heart. You have suffered much greater injustices yet did not seek revenge. I suffered at the hands of enemies. The cause of your misery was largely your Husband. Though you were a Queen had very little time to enjoy it. Fourteen years of exile with Ram as a consequence of a Foolish Maid servant’s scheming was certainly not befitting of any Royalty.The King who could not see through such scheming and surrender to it did not deserve to be a king. And again Ram did gain by that exile.He became famous as a warrior and benevolent by giving away the kingdom after defeating Ravan. But what did I as Sita gain out of it. I was not necessarily required to leave the Palace. Yet I did to serve Ram. And what did I get in return. NO gratitude,non what so ever. I was kidnapped by Ravan and held captive for nearly one year. This captivity was not as humiliating as the release. Captivity was of an Ex Suitor, who having failed in his pursuits, had found an excuse and an opportunity and had made the best of it. Yet he did not assault me physically or otherwise. The Humiliation that I had to face on Release was much bigger Tragedy then the captivity. My husband who was supposed to be an Icon of Justice doubted my Chastity and wished an Agni Pariksha for me. Can any Agni Pariksha be more convincing then the Sixth Sense? It was worse then the turpitude I had to suffer in the Hands of Ravan. Then again a second exile because of an intemperate washer man’s diatribe was the final nail on the coffin of the relationship. I had conceived after more then 14 years. Yet my Husband to magnify his own greatness more or less divorced me. He was given to a false Kshatriya Pride, wherein women did not have an identity of their own.They remained a subset of their spouse and their wishes and desires did not have any significance.
Now it was getting late and we went off to our respective Berths to catch sleep. Draupadi seemed to be falling asleep in no time. Though the sleep eluded me. I was wide awake. This dialogue had sensitized me and made my memory bristle with thorns. Was a wife a prisoner to her husband? Did she have an existence outside her husband and family? No, I did the right thing by walking out of his life and make him feel that I did ultimately have the right to live or leave according to my wishes. He was a glorified Purushottam.I do not believe that he was an Icon for a husband.
And then again what did I think of Draupadi. Here she was Bold, Pro active a Provocateur. Her Tresses launched a thousand arrows. The more I thought of her, more she looked Iconic. An Icon of equality. She was all that I could not even dare to. I wondered had our lives been reversed how she would have lived my life.

साम्प्रदायिकता भी Computer Virus की भांति समाज के चाहे अनचाहे,जाने अनजाने समाज में घर करती जा रही है। कम्प्यूटर वाईरस भी user के अनचाहे, अनजाने में ही क्म्प्यूटर में घर कर लेता है। इस रोग के लिये एड्स की नाईं physical contact की आवश्यकता भी नहीं है। ठीक Virus की तरह सामाजिक अन्तरजाल या internet के मार्फत से किसी प्रदूषित कम्प्यूटर से सम्बन्ध स्थापित होते ही यह Virus अपनी एक प्रतिलिपि Host कम्प्यूटर की “सी” ड्राईव में तैयार कर उसके मानस को विक्षिप्त (Corrupt) कर देता है। यह सम्बन्ध साक्षात्कार से हो सकता है,या वाह्य मीडिया यथा CD/USB/Floppy की नाईं पुस्तक,साहित्य, प्रवचन किसी से भी हो सकता है।
ठीक computer virus की भांति इसमें हर उस System को दूषित करने की अदम्य क्षमता होती है,जो भी इसके सम्पर्क में आता है।
अक्सर “ट्राजन” के सम यह बिलकुल निर्दोष सी दिखने वाली जानकारी की तरह प्रवेश द्वार में सेंध लगाता है। हम एक उपयोगी जानकारी मान अपने कम्प्यूटर की “सी” ड्राईव में इसे डाउनलोड कर लेते हैं। आहिस्ते आहिस्ते यह “ट्राजन” हमारे मानस की “सी” ड्राईव में मौजुद फाइलों या विचारों को अपने घेरे में ले उन्हें अपने ही रंग में रंग देता है।
जब तक पता चलता है तब तक देर हो चुकी होती है। निदान स्वरुप हम अलग अलग एन्टी वाईरस या पुलिस या सी बी आई से स्कैन करवाते हैं,लेकिन समस्या ज्यों की त्यों बनी रहती है।हम जानते हैं कि इसका निदान अन्तिम Formatting के द्वारा ही सम्भव है। खर्च या समय के अभाव में हम इसे कुछ समय तक टाल कर काम चलाते रहते हैं। कम्प्यूटर अपनी आधी क्षमता पर काम कर रहा होता है।
आज भी समाज के ठेकेदारों को समझना होगा कि आज के सन्दर्भ में इसका निदान सम्पूर्ण क्रान्ति या Formatting के द्वारा ही सम्भव है।

विश्व के सभी धर्मों की जन्मभुमि नदी टाइग्रीस व गंगा के मध्य का क्षेत्र ही है। कुल दो किस्म के धर्म पैदा हुये। पहला अब्राहमिक एव दूसरा हिन्दू। अब्राहमिक धर्म के अन्तर्गत मूलतः तीन धर्म आते हैं यहूदी,इसाई एवं मुस्लिम।तीनों के धार्मिक सिद्धन्तों में लम्बे समय तक एक भाई चारे की सी स्थिति रही थी। हंलांकि Crusade व जिहाद तबसे चल रहें जबसे इस्लाम की स्थापना हुयी है। तीनों धर्म के अनुयायियों ने तलवार की धार पर विस्तारवाद का अनवरत प्रयास किया है। हिंसा का प्रादुर्भाव भी भौगोलिक परीस्थितियों की देन रही है। मरुस्थल कभी बेहद ठण्डे और कभी कभी बेहद गर्म। Extreme मौसम स्वभाव में हिंसात्मकों भावना का जन्म एक स्वाभाविक प्रक्रिया है।
विश्व में इन सबसे भिन्न एक और भी मुख्य धर्म है वह है हिन्दू धर्म । इस धर्म की जन्मभूमि भारत वर्ष रही है।
पहले तीनों धर्मों में एक जो मुख्य साम्यता है ,वह है एकेश्वरवाद की।वहीं हिन्दू धर्म विविधताओं में विश्वास रखने वाला धर्म है। हिन्दू धर्म के अन्तर्गत तो तत् त्वम असि को उद्घोष के साथ ही हर व्यक्ति इश्वर या इश्वर की प्रतिमुर्ति है। यह एक से अनेक होने की प्रक्रिया है।
हमें इन धर्मों की तुलना करने हेतू इनकी पृष्ठभुमि खंगालने की आवश्यकता । अब्राहमिक परिवार के तीनों धर्म मरुस्थल में पैदा हुये हुये धर्म है और हिन्दू धर्म मूलतः नदी के किनारे पैदा होने वाला धर्म है।
मरुस्थल में विविधता नहीं होती है। एकमात्र चारों तरफ फैली हुआ बालुमय धरती ही दृष्टिगोचर होती है। ऐसे में एक ही असीम शक्ति का अनुभव एक सहज मनोभाव है। मनुष्य को इश्वर की चेतना साधारणतय प्रकृति के माध्यम से ही होती है। जब प्रकृति में कोई विविधता नहीं दिखायी देगी तब वहां से संस्कार और संस्कारों से निकला हुआ धर्म भी विविधता विहीन ही होगा। तीनों अब्राहमिक धर्मों का उद्भव स्थल रेगिस्तान ही हुआ। तो मरुस्थल की भांति MONOTONY या एकरसता है व मरुस्थल की तरह ही अपरिवर्तनशील भी है।
तीनों धर्मों में ढेर सारी समानतयें हैं।यथा एक इश्वर। एक सर्वशक्तिमान इश्वर जो संसार के जीवों को संचालित कता है और उनके पाप करने पर उन्हें सजा देता है। यानि इश्वर का शासन भय की सत्ता पर टिका हुआ है। आश्चर्यजनकरुप इन तीनों धर्मों से जुड़ी भाषाओं में किसी भी भाषा “पुण्य” के लिये कोई शब्द नहीं है। सिर्फ पाप के लिये शब्द (sin) है । अर्थात् समग्र रुप से भय के द्वारा इश्वर की स्थपना का प्रयास है। इश्वर किसी उंचें स्थान पर बैठ सबके पापों की गिनती कर कयामत का इन्तजार करता है।
हिन्दु धर्म में नदी के प्रवाह की भांति एक प्रतिक्षण परिवर्तनशील नूतनता है। इसी कारण से इन्द्रधनुषी विविधता भी है।
अब्राहमिक धर्मों में एक Prophet है जिसके माध्यम से इश्वर लोगों को TEN COMMANDMENTS की नांई आदेश देता है। एवं उनकी अवहेलना करने पर सजा देने का प्रावधान है। यह इश्वरत्व के अवरोहण की प्रक्रिया है। उपर से नीचे आने की प्रक्रिया है।
हिन्दु धर्म में अहम् ब्रह्मास्मि का उद्घोष है। यानि आरोहण की प्रक्रिया है। मनुष्य के अपने सत्कर्मों से ब्रह्मत्व को प्राप्त करने की प्रक्रिया है। यहां भय नही उत्साह का उपादान है।

लड़कियां पैदा नहीं होती बनायी जाती हैं
कुछ समय पहले बाजार में एक पुस्तक आयी थी “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”. इस पुस्तक का कथ्य था कि पुरुष और स्त्री में इतनी अधिक विषमतायें होती है कि मानो वे दो अलग अलग ग्रहों के प्राणी हों।यथा इनकी जातियां बिलकुल भिन्न हैं। लेखक ने इस पुस्तक में दोनो के एक ही अवस्था की भिन्न भिन्न प्रतिक्रिया का उल्लेख कर अपने कथन की प्रामाणिकता को सिद्ध करने का प्रयास किया है। यथा किसी भी समस्या से मुखातिब होने से पुरुष, लोगों के पास जा कर अपनी समस्या बताते हुये उस समस्या का समाधान ढुंढने का प्रयास करता है। महिला भी लोगों के पास जाती जरुर है,अपनी समस्याओं को लेकर, लेकिन सिर्फ लोगों को अपनी समस्या से अवगत कराने के लिये।
इसके अलावा एक सुपरीचित अन्तर के तहत दोनो के लिये प्रेम शब्द के अर्थ में गहरी विषमतायें विद्यमान हैं।
वहीं मेरी धारणा इस विषय में बिल्कुल उलटी है। मेरा यह मानना है कि लड़किया या लड़के, समाज या परिवार गढता है। पैदाइशी तो दोनो बच्चे ही होते हैं। समाज अपनी संकुचित धारणा या अधपकी मान्यताओं के अनुसार दोनो के साथ भिन्न भिन्न व्यवहार कर उन्हें मानसिक व वैचारिक तौर पर अलाग अलाग रुप में ढालता है।
बायोलोजिकल व जनेन्द्रियों की भिन्नता तो सर्वविदित है। किसी व्यक्ति के व्यक्तित्व के विकास में इन भिन्नताओं की भुमिका नगण्य है।कुछ फर्क हार्मोन्स का भी रहता है। लेकिन हर्मोन्स का अन्तर व्यक्तित्व के संवर्द्धन में नगण्य सा ही रोल अदा कर पाता है। लड़कियों को कोमलांगी कहा जाता रही है। कोमलांगी शब्द पाषाण युग में सही था। क्योंकि उस योग में शारीरिक पुष्टता ही शक्ति का मापदण्ड होती थी।
मैथिली शरण गुप्त ने लिखा था कि:
अबला जीवन हाय तुम्हारी यह ही कहानी
आंचल में है दूध और आंखों में पानी।
अगर समाज ऐसे ही गीत गुनगुनाता रहेगा तो लड़कियों का कोमलांगी बने रहना एक स्वाभाविक प्रक्रिया के रुप में उभर कर आयेगा। यहां मैं सिर्फ भारत की बात भी नहीं कर रहा हूं। पूरे विश्व में पुरुष प्रधान समाज और परिवार ने लड़कियों के खिलाफ साजिश के रुप में उन्हें एक अलग ढांचे में ढालने का प्रयास किया है। आज परीस्थितियां ऐसी हैं कि हम अनजाने में भी सहज स्वभाव वश उस साजिश में अपना किरदार निभा रहें हैं।
एक और तर्क आता है कि स्त्रियां अपने कोमल स्वभाव के कारण वे पुरुष की पूरक होती हैं। यह पूरक होने की भुमिका निभाने का ढोल सिर्फ महिला ही क्यों बजाये। क्या इससे यह अर्थ लगाया जा सकता है कि जिन लोगों ने विवाह नहीं किया या बिना स्त्री संसर्ग के जीवन जिया है, वे कभी पूर्ण हो ही नही सकते। दोनो संवाद सत्य की कसौटी खरे नहीं उतरते। भीष्म ने विवाह नहीं किया था तथापि महाभारत के अन्य किसी भी पात्र की तुलना में एक मात्र कृष्ण के अलावा उनके चरित्र में सबसे अधिक सम्पूर्णता थी। इसी तरह गौतमी का व्यक्तित्व अपनी पूर्णता के लिये गौतम बुद्ध का मुखापेक्षी नहीं है , तभी तो कहती हैं कि “सखी रे मुझसे कह कर जाते”।
समाज व परिवार अक्सर बच्चियों को मर्यादाओं की दुहाई दे एक विवादास्पद लक्ष्मण रेखा में कैद कर उन्हें लड़कियों में तदबील कर देता है।बच्ची से लड़की बनने के लिये उसे एक तंग दायरे में से होकर गुजरना पड़ता है।
लिंग भेद से उपजी इस जाति भेद को समझने की आवश्यकता है। लिंग भेद Physiology का अंग है sociology का नहीं।व्यक्तित्व की सम्पूर्णता के लिये kisiकिसी संगी के साथ का महत्व निःस्सेन्देह है लेकिन आवश्यकता सिर्फ सत्य के प्रति एक आस्था की है।
अगर पुरुष व स्त्री को समाज एक सा व्यवहार दे,तो दोनो का व्यक्तित्व एक सा ही उपजेगा।
पुरुष या स्त्री के व्यक्तित्व व व्यवहार का पार्थक्य परिवेश की देन है लिंग भेद की नहीं। यानि स्त्रियां पैदाइशी स्त्री न होकर अपने व्यक्तित्व में महज समाज की सोच व व्यवहार को ही प्रतिबिम्बित करती हैं।

Bande Matram and Fatwa

भारत शायद भूमण्डल का एक अकेला राष्ट्र होगा जिसके दो दो राष्ट्रीय गीत हैं। “जन गण मन” अधिकारिक या Official तौर पर एवं “बन्दे मातरम्” सम्मानित तौर पर। इस विडम्बना के पीछे एक लम्बा एवं विवादित इतिहास है।
“जन गण मन” स्व: रवीन्द्र नाथ ठाकुर द्वारा रचित है।यह गीत 1911 में सर्वप्रथम कांग्रेस के अधिवेशन में सम्राट जार्ज पंचम की उपस्थिति में गाया गया था। गुरुदेव के कथनानुसार उन्होंने इस गीत के माध्यम से दैवी शक्ति का आह्वान किया था एवं सम्राट जार्ज इस गीत के अधिनायक नहीं थे। इस समारोह के पश्चात इस गीत का कभी भी कोई राष्ट्रीय महत्व नहीं रहा।
बन्दे मातरम सन् 1870 में बंकिम चन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय ने ग्राम प्रवास के दौरान लिखा था।बाद में सन् 1882 में आनन्द मठ नामक उपन्यास में इसे गूंथ कर छापा गया।
सन् 1923 तक बन्दे मातरम् भारतीय आकांक्षाओं एवं अस्मिता का प्रतीक चिन्ह रहा।प्रायः सभी राजनैतिक पार्टियों की सभाओं में यह गीत गाया जाता था।
सन् 1905 के बंग भंग के खिलाफ छिड़ा आन्दोलन सम्भवतः ब्रिटिश भारत में पहला जन आन्दोलन था। इस आन्दोलन में हिन्दु व मुस्लिम दोनों वर्गों ने पूरे जोश के साथ हिस्सा लिया था। इस आन्दोलन का प्रेरणा गीत दोनो वर्गों के लिये “बन्दे मातरम्” ही था।
सन् 1923 में पहली बार काकीनाड़ा में हो रहे कांग्रेस सम्मेलन में मौलाना अहमद अली ने इस गीत का विरोध किया। मूल विरोध का विषय था कि इस्लाम खुदा के अलावा किसी की वन्दना करने की इजाजत नहीं देता और इस गीत में मातृभुमि की वन्दना की गयी थी। बाद में क्षेपक के और पर में बंकिम चन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय के उपन्यास आनन्द मठ की पृष्ठभुमि (मुस्लिम जमींदारों के खिलाफ) के कारण इस गीत को इस्लाम विरोधी करार देकर मुद्दा बनाया गया।
ये दोनों मुद्दे तथ्यों से परे सिर्फ अलगाव वादी राजनीति से प्रेरित थे।खिलाफत आन्दोलन,जो कि समग्र रूप से इस्लाम परक था, की सारी बैठकें “बन्देमातरम्” गीत से ही शुरु होती थी। तत्कालीन सारे मुस्लिम नेता यथा अली बन्धु,जिन्ना इस गीत के सम्मान में खड़े होते थे।
“बन्देमातरम्” गीत के ऐतिहासिक महत्व के सन्दर्भ में आनन्द मठ उपन्यास के पृष्ठभुमि की भुमिका अर्थहीन थी। इबादत या वन्दना का मुद्दा हास्यास्पद था। इस विषय में मौलाना अहमद रजा का 1944 में प्रकाशित लेख उल्लेखनीय है। उन्होंने लिखा था “”“हमारे कुछ मुस्लिम भाई जिन्दगी के कुछ साधारण तथ्य(जन्मभूमि का मातृभूमि रुप) को इबादत या बुत परस्ती का नाम देकर,नकारने का प्रयास कर रहें हैं।माता पिता के चरण स्पर्श,नेताओं के दीवार पर चित्र टांगना आदरसूचक हैं, इसे बुतपरस्ती की संज्ञा देना गलत है।मेरा निवेदन है कि इस गीत को एक पावन गीत के रुप में ग्रहण करें न कि बुतपरस्ती के रुप में।””
वाममार्गी इतिहासकार मजुमदार ने भी स्वीकार करते हुये कहा था कि “ सन् 1905 से 1947 तक बन्देमातरम् भारतीय राष्ट्रभक्तों का प्रेरणा गीत एवं हार्दिक अभिव्यक्ति थी। अंग्रेज पुलिसकर्मी की लाठी खाते हुये या फांसी के तख्ते पर यही गीत उनके होंठों पर था।”
Government of India act 1935 के तहत 1937 में जब चुनाव हुये 11 राज्यों में कांग्रेस की सरकार गथित हुयी। मुस्लिम्स लीग ने एक बार फिर बन्देमातरम् के विवाद को उठाया।इस बार कांग्रेस ने गुत्थी सुलझाने हेतु तीन व्यक्तियों,यथा नेहरू जी,सुभाष बोस एवं जिन्ना, की एक समिति गठित की। इस समिति ने तुष्टीकरण स्वरुप इस गीत को खण्डित कर प्रथम दो पदों को ग्रहण किया। अगले वर्ष पहली बार 1938 के कांग्रेसी अधिवेशन में सिर्फ पहले दो पदों को ही गाया गया।
अब मुस्लिम लीग ने और भी कड़ा रुख अपनाते हुये मांग की कि “V बन्देमातरम् गीत को सम्पूर्ण रुप से कांग्रेस पार्टी त्यागे,आनन्दमठ से इस गीत का निष्कासन करे एवं उर्दू को राष्ट्रीय भाषा का दर्जा आदि।” अब यह मुद्दा अलगाव वादी राजनीति का अंग बन चुका था। फिर भी जमीनी हकीकत यह थी कि बन्देमातरम् ही सभी स्वतन्त्रता सेनानियों का प्रेरणा गीत था।
स्वाधीनता के पश्चात भारत के सभी शीर्षस्थ नेता बन्देमातरम् को ही राष्ट्रीय गीत के रुप में देखना चाहते थे।
गांधी जी ने नेता 28अगस्त 1947 को कहा था कि बन्देमातरम् को लयबद्ध कर राष्ट्रीय गीत का दर्जा दिया जाये।
गान्धी जी ने “जन गण मन” के सन्दर्भ में कहा था कि यह एक धार्मिक गीत है।
महर्षि अरविन्द: बन्देमातरम् राष्ट्रवाद की अभिव्यक्ति है अतएव इसे स्वतः ही राष्ट्रगीत की संज्ञा प्राप्त होती है।
नेहरू जी की अकेले की मुस्लिम तुष्टी करण की भावना ने बन्देमातरम् को दोयम स्थान दिला ““जन गण मन”” को राष्ट्रीय गीत का स्थान दिलवाया

कबीर ने मुझे परिभाषित करते हुये कहा था:
जल में कुम्भ,कुम्भ में जल है।
बाहर भीतर पानी॥
फुटा कुम्भ, जल जल ही समाना।
यह तत कथौ ज्ञानी।
यानि आत्मा का परमात्मा में विलय का ही नाम मृत्यु है। लघु का विशाल में समन्वय ही मृत्यु है। लहर का समुद्र में समाहित हो जाना मेरा परिचय है। तत्काल उसके पश्चात उसी लहर में निहित जल से एक नयी लहर का पैदा होना भी एक स्वाभाविक प्रक्रिया है। जब लहर का परिचय समुद्र के अंश के रुप में होता है तो मृत्यु या लहर की समाप्ति अपना स्वरुप खो एक स्वाभाविक महत्वहीन क्रिया हो जाती है।
मृत्यु या जिन्दगी में मृत्यु अधिक महत्वपूर्ण हैं। क्योंकि बेंजामिन फ्रैकलिन के शब्दों में मृत्यु और Taxes ही जिन्दगी में अवश्यम्भावी हैं। यानि मरना तो सबके लिये जरूरी है।जिन्दगी तो बस कुछ थोड़े से लोगों के हिस्से में आती है।
लोग अन्यथा ही मृत्यु से भय पाते हैं। मरने वाला तो सब विषयों से मुक्त हो चिर शान्ति पा जाता है। शारीरिक या मानसिक कष्ट तो सिर्फ उनके हिस्से में आते हैं जो जीवित हैं। श्री अरविन्द ने तो मृत्यु को, हिन्दू धर्म के हवाले से evolution या विकास का उपादान बताया है। उनके विचार से मनुष्य भौतिक मृत्यु के पश्चात ही अपने उत्थान व जागरण के अगले सोपान की ओर कदम उठा पाता है। मानव के अतिमानव के राह में मृत्यु एक आवश्यक पड़ाव है। अन्यथा मनुष्य चिरन्तन अपनी स्थिति से सन्तुष्ट अगले सोपान के प्रति अनजान व विकास या evolution से वंचित रह जायेगा।
जैसा मैने अपने पिछले आलेख में कहा था मृत्यु या मेरे साक्षात्कार के समय जो लोग सर उठा कर जी पाते हैं , सिर्फ उन्हीं लोगों ने जिन्दगी जीयी है। नेपोलियन जिसने सम्पूर्ण योरोप पर शासन करने के प्रयास का दुःस्साहस किया था अपने अन्तिम क्षणों में कायरों की मौत मरा। उसके अन्तिम दिनों में वह पूरी तरह टूट चुका था।वह जब जेल गया तो उसके साथ उसके तकरीबन 35/40 मित्र स्वेच्छा से उसके साथ के हेतु जेल गये थे। उसके सारे साथी अल्प समय में ही अपने टूटे हुये नेपोलियन को बर्दाश्त करने में अक्षम पा ,एक एक कर उसे छोड़ कर चले गये। मैंने या मेरी विभीषिका ने नेपोलियन का सारा स्वरुप बदल दिया।
वहीं रामकृष्ण परमहंस कैन्सर से युद्ध रत एवं मृत्यु के सम्मुख भी शान्त रहते हैं। जब उनके शिष्य उनकी पीड़ा से आहत हो कर सहानुभुति में उनसे कहते हैं कि,”उनकी पीड़ा से उन्हें भी दर्द है,वे कहते हैं कि “दर्द तो जिन्दगी के आवश्यक अंग है। महत्व शान्ति का है और उनका चित सम्पूर्ण रुप से शान्त है।” उस अनपढ कालि के साधक ने मुझ पर पर सुकरात सम विजय पा ली थी और पारस सम जीया। नरेन्द्र नाथ दत्त को विवेकानन्द बना कर अपने पारस होने को सार्थक किया।
व्यक्ति के विस्मरित हो जाने में ही मृत्यु है। जब तक वह लोगों के मानस पटल है जीवित है,तब तक वह अवश्य ही जीवित है।यथा गान्धी की मृत्यु का कारण गोडसे की गोली नहीं,भारत वासियों का उन्हें irrelevant कर देना है। नेहरू जी ने दिल्ली के अशोका होटल को ग्रामीण शौचालाय से अधिक प्राथमिकता प्रदान कर गान्धी की हत्या की। गान्धी जितनी बड़ी शख्सियत की हत्या का सबब कभी भी अकेले अदने आम आदमी के बूते के बाहर का कार्य था।
मुझ पर विजय पा, जीने के लिये मुझसे मित्रता आवश्यक है। मुझे स्वीकार कर जीने में ही जीवन समुचित रुप से जीया जाता है। इसाई मतावलम्बियों में मृत्यु के पश्चात मृतक के चार परीचित, चर्च के प्रांगण में उसके विषय में अपनी अपनी राय प्रदान करते हुये अपना अपना संवाद प्रस्तुत करते हैं। इन में से पहला वक्ता अक्सर नजदीकि रिश्तेदार यथा पत्नी,पुत्र,भाई दूसरा वक्ता उसका पड़ोसी, तीसरा उसका सहकर्मी एवं चौथा उसके चर्च का पादरी होता है। मान लीजिये आप अपनी मृत्यु के समय के वक्तओं के इच्छित संवादों को लक्ष्य मान जीना आरम्भ कर पाते हैं तो वहीं से आपकी मित्रता मृत्यु से हो गयी है और आप अपनी जिन्दगी समुचित तौर पर जी पायेंगे। यथा आपके इच्छित संवाद अपने रिश्तेदार से होंगे कि आपने उसे बहुत प्यार किया एवं अपनी सारी जिम्मेदारियां बखुबी निभाई। यानि इच्छित संवाद को आंक कर आप अपने जिन्दगी के लक्ष्य को अंकित कर रहें हैं। और मृत्यु को स्वीकार व अंगीकार कर एक सार्थक जिन्दगी जी पायेंगे।
मृत्यु को जीते बगैर कोई भी व्यक्ति न तो जी सकता है और न मर ही सकता है। क्योंकि जो कभी जिया ही नहीं वह मर कैसा सकता है। इस सत्य के प्रतिपादन हेतु मार्टिन लुथर किंग ने कहा था कि “A person who does not have a cause worth dying, his life is not worth living”
चरम लक्ष्य है सुकरात या रामकृष्ण सम मृत्यु पर विजय पाने की।.

मैं मृत्यु हूं। दुनिया के प्रायः या यों कहूं कि तकरीबन सारे लोग ही मेरी विभीषिका से खौफ़जदा हैं।
या तो लोग मुझे शेष का पर्याय मानते रहें हैं। या जिन्दगी में मेरी भुमिका से परीचित ही नहीं हैं।
यनि जिस तरह लोग अन्धेरे को न भेद पाने की अवस्था में अन्धेरे से डरते हैं या प्लेटो के चिर निरुत्तरित प्रश्न से उत्पन्न शून्य से भयभीत हैं ,उसी तरह मुझसे मुझसे भी खौफजदा हैं। प्लेटो का प्रश्न था मृत्यु के पश्चात क्या। यह प्लेटो के चार चिर निरुत्तरित प्रश्नों में से एक है।
मेरा पहला समुचित परिचय एवं प्लेटो के इस प्रश्न का उत्तर नचिकेता के विषम प्रश्न के उत्तर में यम ने दिया था। जिसे पूर्वी जगत ने कथोपनिषद के नाम से जाना। पश्चिमी जगत आज भी इस प्रश्न को निरुत्तरित ही मानता रहा है।
कथोपनिषद का परिचय था कि मृत्यु जीवन यात्रा का एक पड़ाव भर है। उसी सत्य को प्रतिपादित करते हुये गीता ने उदाहरण के द्वारा सरली करण करते हुये “वासंसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय, नवानि गृहोति नरो पराणि” के श्लोक का उद्घोघोष किया।
मै अपना आत्मपरिचय या आत्मविश्लेषण करते हुये कहूं, तो कहूंगा कि मनुष्य के मुझसे साक्षत्कार के काल के भाव में उसकी सारी जिन्दगी प्रतिबिम्बित हो जाती है। मैं उस क्षण उसकी सारी जिन्दगी को प्रतिबिम्बित करता हूं।
उदाहरण के तौर पर सुकरात की मृत्यु के दृश्य को देखें। सुकरात से जब उसके शिष्य पुछते हैं कि उसक अन्तिम संस्कार कैसा होने चाहिये तो वह कहता है कि “जो मर रहा है वह सुकरात है ही नहीं। न कोई उसे पकड़ सकता है और न हीं कोई उसे मार सकता है।” कितनी सत्यता है इस संवाद में। वो 476 एथेन्स वासी जिन्होंने सर्वसहमति से उसे मृत्युदण्ड दिया था,सब मर चुके हैं लेकिन कालजयी सुकरात आज भी उतने ही मुखर रुप में जिन्दा है। सुकरात के इस एक वाक्य या यों कहें कि उसकी मृत्यु की अवमानना, उसके जीवन के सारे रंगों की एक झलक तो दिखला देती है।
अरस्तु का शिष्य व सम्राट अलेक्जेन्डर अपनी मृत्यु के वक्त कहता है कि “उसके दोनों हाथ से ताबुत से निकाल कर रखे जायें। ताकि दुनिया जान सके कि आधी दुनिया जीतने वाला अलेक्जेन्डर भी खाली हाथा जा रहा है।” यह एक योद्धा के अन्तिम काल का आभास था कि वह व्यर्थ ही सारी जिन्दगी मृग की भांति मरीचिकाओं के पीछे दौड़ता रहा।
जहां सुकरात ने मुझे अच्छी तरह पहचान कर जिन्दगी समुचित रुप से जीयी, वहीं अलेक्जेन्डर जिन्दगी भर भ्रम में जीया और अपने अन्त काल में ही मुझसे परीचित हो पाया।

आज विश्व में 57 राष्ट्र में बहुसंख्यक आबादी मुस्लिम है। इनमें से एक में भी आधिकारिक तौर पर सेक्युलर या गणतान्त्रिक सरकार नहीं है।क्या इस्लाम गणतन्त्र के विरुद्ध है ? इस विषय पर एक उच्चस्तरीय संवाद की गहन आवश्यकता है।
तकरीबन अस्सी वर्ष पहले कमाल अतातुर्क ने पहली बार किसी इस्लामिक राष्ट्र में गणतन्त्र की स्थापना का प्रयास किया था। आज वहां भी धार्मिक संगठन सरकार के उपर अपनी प्रभुता काबिज कर पा रहें हैं। मेरे मानस पटल पर फिल्म निर्माता हिचकाक की एक घटना अनायास ही कौंध जाती है। हिचकाक अपनी गाड़ी चलाते हुये कहीं जा रहे थे। वे हठात बोल पड़े के “मैने इससे भयावह कोई दृश्य जिन्दगी में नही देखा है”। दृश्य था ‘सड़क के किनारे एक पादरी एक बालक के सर पर हाथ रख कर उससे बातें कर रहा था।‘ हिचकाक ने खिड़की से सर निकाला और जोर से कहा, “बच्चे भागो। तुरन्त इससे दूर भागो”। संगठानात्मक धर्म और संगठानात्मक अपराध दोनो में काफी सामंजस्यता है। दोनो को पूर्णरुपेण मिटाना असम्भव है। दोनो ही अपने अपने आकाओं के लिये विशाल धन का श्रोत सिद्ध होते रहें हैं।
धार्मिक या यों कहूं कि Religious संगठनों की प्रभुता, समाज में सोच खत्म करने की प्रक्रिया है। इस्लाम सिर्फ मजहब से परे एक सविधान देने पर आमदा है। कोई भी पुस्तक,धर्मग्रन्थ जहां जिज्ञासा या अन्वेषण पर प्रतिबन्ध लगायें वे आततायी हो जाते हैं।
जिस जमीन पर भी धर्मगुरु शासन पर हावी हो जायें वहां गणतन्त्र नहीं पनप सकता। कुरान या शरीयत में आम चुनाव को कहीं भी परिभाषित नहीं किया गया है। आज इरान में धर्मगुरुओं ने अपने आपको खुदाई या दैवी हवाले से आवाम के प्रतिनिधियों से वरिष्ठ घोषित कर रखा है। पाकिस्तान और भारत तो एक ही मां से जन्मे दो राष्ट्र हैं। भारत में चुंकि हिन्दुओं का बहुमत था, सेक्युलर विचार धारा बिना किसी आन्दोलन के स्वीकृत हो गयी है। गणतन्त्र भी इसी सिक्के का दूसरा पहलु है। शायद भारत विश्व में एक मात्र राष्ट्र है जहां गणतन्त्र एवं ADULT FRANCHISE को बिना किसी आन्दोलन या प्रसव पीड़ा के, पहले दिन से ही लागु कर पाया गया । वहीं पाकिस्तान जिसका जन्म जुड़वे भाई कि मानिन्द एक साथ ही हुआ , आज 62 वर्ष पश्चात भी कार्यकारी गणतन्त्र से कोसों दूर है।
अगर कोई धर्म अपने ग्रन्थों को सर्वोपरि मनने के लिये मजबूर करता है,वहां गणतन्त्र कभी पनप नहीं सकता। गणतन्त्र में आवाम सर्वोपरि होता है अन्य कोई भी मृत संस्था नहीं। सारे ग्रन्थ एवं तीर्थ स्थल मनुष्य की सोच के आगे बौने हैं।गणतन्त्र का अर्थ है कि हर एक व्यक्ति का महत्व या वजन बराबर रहेगा। हर इकाई को अपने मत का महत्व दिया जाना। किसी खलिफा या मुफ़्ती का वजन अन्य किसी भी नागरिक से अधिक नहीं होगा। गणतन्त्र के लिये नागरिकों को अपनी पारम्परिक पहचान में विशेष परिवर्तन की कीमत तो अदा करनी ही पड़ेगी।
इस्लाम का अर्थ है समर्पण। धर्म के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण । यहीं से गणतन्त्र की परम्परा को आघात पहुंचता है। गणतन्त्र में महत्व शासन का है, तन्त्र का है। अन्य सभी मानक यथा कुरान या मौलवी की सत्ता इनके सामने गौण हो जाती है।
अपनी अभिव्यक्ति की पूरी स्वतन्त्रता,तर्क को किसी भी नियम से उपर की सत्ता,सत्य की कसौटी को सर्वोच्च पायदान आदि गणतन्त्र के मूलभुत नींव के पत्थर हैं। किसी भी DOGMA की कोई अड़चन गणतन्त्र की हत्या कर देगी।
अगर इस्लाम अपने प्रारुप में थोड़ा परिवर्तन स्वीकार कर ले,थोड़ा लचीलापन ले आये तो गणतन्त्र की स्थापना जरुर सम्भव है। अन्यथा नहीं।

आजतक हमने तो दो ही स्वयंवर का उल्लेख सुना था।एक जिसमें शिवजी का धनुष तोड़ा गया था एवं दूसरा जिसमें मछली की आंख फोड़ी गयी थी। इस कलियुग में पहली बार तीसरे स्वयम्वर की चर्चा सुनी। राखी भौजी का स्वयम्वर।अब आप कहेंगे कि भौजी के स्वयंवर का क्या अर्थ है ? अरे भई जो भी धनुष तोड़ लेगा कोई न कोई “भाई” ही होगा। तो फिर इन्डिया में हो या न हो हमारे भारत में तो भावी भौजी को भी भौजी कहने का रिवाज है।

तो जनाब हम भी पंहुच गये राखी सावन्त का स्वयंवर देखने। इच्छा तो participate करने की ही थी। लेकिन कुंवारा होना उम्मीदवारी की अनिवार्य शर्त थी। अब भैया क्या पता उ स्वयंवर जीते या न जीते ,लेकिन उस की उम्मीदवारी में जो हम जीत चुके थे उसे तो नहीं गंवा सकते थे।

तो हमने पड़ोस के नेताजी को पटा कर दर्शक दीर्घा का पास बनवा ही लिया। अब ये बात और है कि हमारी संसद तक में दर्शक दीर्घा के पास पर भी मण्डप में प्रवेश सकता है , तो यह तो NDTV का स्टुडियो भर था। सोचा अगर मौका मिला तो ठीक वर्ना चलो दूल्हा नहीं तो कम से बाराती बन दावत तो मिल ही जायेगी । फिर गधे और नट की कहानी याद आयी। क्या पता लड़की रस्सी से गिर ही जाये। या फिर एक और भी सम्भावना थी कि जैसे BAYWATCH की Pamela भौजी ने अपनी हनीमून की विडियो राइट्स बेची थी क्या पता सीरीयल के निर्माता TRP के खातिर यहां भी ऐसा कुछ कर दें।तो भैये सम्भावनायें अनन्त थीं।

राखी जी के स्वयंवर की शर्तें बाहर वीडियो पर सुन्दर एनीमेशन के साथ नाच रहीं थी.:

2) जन्म कुण्डली मिलनी चाहिये

3) सार्वजनिक रुप से कभी किसी को किस्स नही किया होना चाहिये

4) कद लम्बा

5) रंग गोरा

6) उम्र : 25 से अधिक

7) तालीम : चेक पर दस्तखत करना आता हो।

8) अगर प्रेम पत्र अच्छे लिख सके तो एक अतिरिक्त योग्यता मानी जायेगी।

9) थप्पड़ खाने का तजुर्बा भी आवश्यक है।

9) सब उम्मीदवरों से उम्मीद की जाती है कि वे अपने बैंक (स्विस) एकाउंट स्टेटमेंट साथ ले कर आयें।

10) शादी की मियाद बैंक (स्विस) स्टेटमेंट के अनुसार तय की जायेगी।

पर्दा उठता है। कोई एक श्रीमान भावी वधु का परिचय करवाते हैं।

ये राखी सावन्त हैं।

इनकी जबान तो बोलती ही है जिस्म उससे अधिक बोलता है।

सबजगह से बोलता है।

इनकी खासियत है कि ये खुद कितना भी नीचें गिरें, बस TRP उपर जानी चाहिये।

लोग इनसे थप्पड़ खाने के लिये भी कतार में खड़े रहते हैं। अब मीका को कोई नहीं जानता था लेकिन एक थप्पड़ ने उसकी तकदीर बदल दी। स्टेज शो एव स्टेज शो के पैसे दोनो मिलने लगे।

अब बगल में एक दिलजले (खट्टे अंगूर वाली लोमड़ी, किस्म के व्यक्ति) बैठे थे। उनसे रह नही गया। फुसफुसाते हुये कान के पास आ कहने लगे ,भाई साहब उस थप्पड़ से मीका की तकदीर तो खुली ही, साथ साथ राखी की तकदीर को भी चार चंद लग गये। इनसे शादी करने के बनिस्बत थप्पड़ खाना अधिक लाभ का सौदा है।

मैंने कहा भाई अभी तक तो मेरा या आपका दोनो(शादी का और थप्पड़ का) का ही कोई चान्स नहीं है। तो फिर दोनों के बीच मोल तोल क्यों किया जाये।

फिर तमाम कुंवारों का परिचय करवाया गया। भारत के सारे WHO’S WHO कुंवारे वहां उपस्थित थे। mahendra siमहेन्द्र सिंह धोनी से लेकर राहुल गान्धी तक।

राखी पहले उम्मीदवार के रुप में राहुल गान्धी से मुखातिब होती हैं।

राखी:: आपके बैंक एकाउंट से तो सारा देश वाकिफ है। स्विस भी और इटालियन भी। और आपकी नाम राशि भी हमारे नाम राशि से मिलती है।जब नाम राशि मिलती है तो कुण्डली भी मिल ही जायेगी। पेशे से आप किसान हैं ऐसा आपने लोकसभा के चुनाव अधिकारियों को बताया है।

भारत में आपसे अधिक अमीर किसान तो और कोई नही, होगा। बाकी अन्य खुबियां भी बताइये।

राहुल G :: अब देखिये तुम्हारी प्रेम पत्र वाली शर्त पर तो हमसे बेहतर कोइ नहीं होगा । हमने अपने प्रेम पत्र से पूरा उत्तर प्रदेश एवं राजस्थान हिला दिया। तुम अपनी cleavageccleavagecc से तो सिर्फ झुमरी तिलैया ही हिलाती रही हो।

मेरे प्रेम के किस्से कोलम्बिया तक फैले हैं।

T R P के लिये जैसे लटके झटके तुम करती हो।मैं भी करता हूं। कभी किसी गांव में रात बिताता हूं, कभी दिहाड़ी

मजदूरी करता हूं। तुम्हारा भी सारा किरदार TRP पर निर्भर करता है मेरा भी। isaइस TRP के बाहर तुम भी और कुछ भी करने में अक्षम हो ,मैं भी। फर्जी युनिवर्सिटी की डिग्री, चुनाव आयोग में दाखिल कर चुनाव तो लड़ा जा सकता है। CORPORATE SECTORमें कोई नौकरी तो नहीं मिल सकती इसकी बिना पर।

बाकी उम्मीदवार जैसे महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी कि क्रिकेट की कोई जागीर तो है नहीं।बकौल गब्बर जब तक इसका बल्ला चलेगा तब तक इसकी TRP चलेगी। क्या पता बैंक एकाउन्ट पहले खत्म हो या TRP। तो फिर क्या मुकाबला है मुझमें और उसमें। यहां तो खानदानी जागीर है। कम से कम चार पुश्तों से तो चल ही रही है।

मिxxन्द वो तो हमारे मुनीम का बेटा है। युवराज के पास तो सिर्फ भारत के टटपुंजिया बैंकों की पासबुक ही है।

और फिर जब हमने एक हाथ से हाथी को पछाड़ दिया तो शिव जी का धनुष तोड़ने में क्या देर लगेगी।

मेरी मानो बाकी सब को दफा करो ।

यह सब सुनने के बाद राखी जी ने भी सीता मैया की जय का उद्घोष लगाया। मुझे तुलसी दास जी की चौपाइयां याद आ रहीं थी “याते सब सुधी भुल गयी।। कर टेक रही, पर टारत नाहीं”। तो भैये अब बिल्कुल राम राज्य आने को ही है। “अब हमारे चारण, विप्र, गण मिलि वेद पढ़ाईं” शुरु कर ही दें।

मध्यान्तर के बाद दूसरे एपिसोड की शूटिंग होनी थी। शूटिंग शुरु हुयी। राहुल भैया ने मंच पर आकर धनुष ढुंढना शुरू किया। राखी ने कहा देखो शायद पलंग के नीचे पड़ा होगा। राहुल ने धनुष निकाला, तो पाया कि वह तो पहले से दो जगह से टूटा हुआ था। राहुल ने कहा कि यह तो पहले से ही टूटा हुआ है। राखी ने झुंझलाते हुये कहा कि देखो मंए कब कहा कि यह मेरा पहला स्वयंवर है। तो। यह तो मेरा तीसरा स्वयंवर है। भइ यह क्या तमाशा है।

राखी: देखो मैं समझाती हूं। पहला स्वयंवर टू व्हीलर आलों में से हुया था। दूसरा फोर व्हीलर वालों में से था। अब आज तीसरी बार मर्सीडिज वालों के साथ स्वयंवर है। अब अधिक नखरा किये बिना एक कोने से तुम भी तोड़ लो।

तुम्हारी TRP भी पांच साल बाद मार खा सकती है। तो देखना कि धनुष में चौथे स्वयंवर के लिये भी प्रावधान बना रहे।

अन्य लोगों ने सुर में सुर मिलाया। बगावत होने को थी।

राखी भौजी ने बड़ी समझदारी का परिचय देते हुये कहा कि छोड़िये ये सब। हम चारों को ही जीता घोषित कर चारों से ही ब्याह रचा लेते हैं। पिछली बार भी तो पांच पतियों के वरण का इतिहास है ही। अब मेरी बांछें खिल रहीं थीं कि ये तो चार ही हैं। क्या पता मीका नहीं यार मीका नहीं, छींका ,हां हमारे भाग्य का छींका टुट ही जाये।

मेरे सारे ब्लाग्स सारे जहां के विषय में थे।कभी राजनीति पर कभी धर्म पर ।
आज कुछ मानवीय सम्बन्धों पर लिखने की इच्छा हुई।मैं एक Mid aged पचासोत्तर उम्र का मारवाड़ी व्यवसायी हूं। मैं आज उम्र के जिस पड़ाव पर हूं, उस पड़ाव पर मेरे प्रायः हमउम्र मित्रों के पुत्र वयस्क हो चुके हैं ,एवं पारिवारिक व्यसाय में रत हैं।
इन समीकरणों मे अक्सर एक असंतोष देखने में आता है। कहीं पिता को पुत्र पर पूरा भरोसा नहीं है एवं पुत्र पांच या दस वर्षों के बाद भी Learning License वाली driving ही कर रहें हैं। कहीं पुत्र परिवर्तन चाहते हैं एवं पिता अपने पुराने Tried एवं Proven मार्ग से हिलने को तैयार नहीं हैं।
कारण कुछ भी हों,सम्बन्ध अक्सर तनाव मय हैं।
यह सब देख कर अक्सर प्रतीत होता है कि मैं खुशकिस्मत हूं कि मेरे कोई बेटा नहीं है,सिर्फ दो बेटियाँ हैं। सिर्फ कहना गलत है। सिर्फ कहीं न कहीं न्यूनता का भाव प्रदर्धित करता करता है। यहां तो बाहूल्य का मौसम है।
प्रधान मन्त्री श्री मनमोहन सिहं ने भी कुछ ऐसे ही भाव व्यक्त किये थे ,जब उन्हों कहा था कि "वे खुशकिस्मत हैं कि उनकी तीन बेटियां हैं कोई बेटा नहीं है। अगर उनके कोई बेटा होता तो वो कभी भी प्रधान मन्त्री नहीं बन सकते"।
स्वाभाविक तौर पर मेरे ढेर सारे अनुभव हैं इन बेटियों के बचपन के, किशोरवस्था के आदि।
मुझसे किसी व्यक्ति ने एक दिन कहा कि आपने अपनी बेटियों को बेटों की तरह पाला है। मैं चौंक गया कि, कहां चूक हो गयी। मेरा उत्तर था कि भाई साहब मुझे तो एक ही तरह से पालना आता है। बताइये कहां चूक हो गयी। पता लगे तो अब भी भूल सुधार कर लूं।
एक और शुभचिन्तक हितैषी अतिथि के रुप में घर आये थे। कहने लगे कि बेचारे कुलदीप के तो सिर्फ बेटियां हैं।कोई बेटा नहीं है। मुझे और मेरी वहां उपस्थित बेटियों को बेचारा शब्द बहुत नागावार गुजरा। अब अतिथि धर्म के सामने बहुत कुछ कहा भी नहीं जा सकता। मैं उनकी भावनाओं को भी समझ रहा था। फिर भी मैंने तुरन्त बेचारा शब्द पर ऐतराज करते हुये पूछा कि मैं कहां से उन्हें से बेचारा नजर आगया।अच्छा खासा व्यसाय चला रहा हूं। कभी मांगने के लिये हाथ नहीं उठाया। मेरी बेटियां मुझे तो अति प्रिय हैं। तो कमी कहां और बेचारगी कहां है।
प्रश्न है एक सही व्यक्तित्व के निर्माण का। फिर चाहें वे इन्दिरा नूयी बनें या सहज गृहणी कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता।

WHY I AM A HINDU

There are three main religions in the World. There have been three widely acclaimed works criticizing all three RELIGIONS with identical titles.
The title of each work has been “Why I Am Not A Christian or Muslim or Hindu” Each of the authors Namely Nobel Prize winner Bertrand Russell, Ibn Al Rawandi and Illiah Kancha have looked up the discrepancies , blemishes in their respective religions and have espoused on them. It is healthy to criticize and introspect one’s belief. It is a prerequisite for evolution. Accordingly I would welcome all such works. Yet one must tread with caution with all such works. At least the one by Illiah Kancha is an
extremely superficial work and filled with Hatred. When one has been at the” receiving end “ of a social system, Loss Of Objectivity is an obvious fall out.
I am euphemistically a “Born Hindu”. Yet the phrase of being born Hindu or Muslim beats me. One is born a Human being. One is born of Hindu or Muslim parents. But no one is born with a religion. Why can’t it be like our professional careers, matter of simple choice, without any baggage to be discarded or vented against?
Coming to the Subject of the blog, Why I am a Hindu. Primarily one must define the premise first and then extrapolate from there. Hence the premise WHAT IS HINDUISM. I have read several articles expounding on the origin of the word Hindu and its Arabic origin. This intellectual exercise itself in Un Hindu. The word Hindu and its Arabic origin are absolutely irrelevant and all such deliberation is a mere intellectual diarrhea. Let us discuss its contents. There are several texts which have explained the Concept of Hinduism without using the word. Swami Vivekanand rejected the word outright and substituted it with Vedantik. Supreme Court of India too opined that one who believes and abides by Vedas and Upanishads is a Hindu.
Hindu is a DHARM disparate from Religion. Hinduism is a DHARM and not a religion. This is the first important input required to get even a faint understanding of Hinduism. All other systems of belief commonly known as RELIGION begin with a Founder and culminate in a BOOK. Once you have dead institution prevailing over intellect the “Man” becomes a “Great Beast” as described by Alexander Hamilton.
In Hinduism one of the important works is “Brahma Bhasya” by Adi Shankaracharya the 8th Century philosopher. The opening lines are “Atho Jigyasa Bhav”, “Let us question (Brahma the Creator)”. Signifying that everything all concepts are subservient to man’s intellect and subject to examination.
I would like to simplify the perception of Hinduism. An anecdote of an encounter of a Rabi and Goering illustrates percepts of Hinduism.
A Rabi was brought in the presence of Goering. Goerring maliciously told him that Talmud was a very ordinary book. There was nothing great about it. He did not understand why Jews accepted such an ordinary text with so much veneration. Rabi smiled and said “Mr. Goering , you have not been bale to understand Talmud”.
Goering took it as an affront and asked the Rabi to prove his contention.
Rabi said:”I would ask you three questions. If you are able to answer any one, I would accept that you have understood the Talmud”.
Goering in contempt asked him to go ahead.
Rabi : The First question,” Two men wearing WHITE clothes slide down a chimney. One emerges spotless, other all darkened with soot. Who will go for a WASH”?
Goering says, “Obviously one who has emerged all covered with dark soot, he will go for a wash”
Rabi,” Wrong! They look at each other. The one in spotless clothes sees other darkened guy and presumes that he has become dirty too and goes for a WASH. While the other guy looking at his friend all spotless believes that he too is spotless and does not go for a WASH”
Rabi: The Second question,” Two men wearing WHITE clothes slide down a chimney. One emerges spotless, other all darkened with soot. Who will go for a WASH”?
Goering: “It is the same question”.
Rabi, No It’s different.
Goering: “OK now I know the answer. The Guy with spotless clothes would go for a wash”.
Rabi: “Wrong. They are human beings and would not react such mechanically. The one with soiled and darkened clothes would go for a WASH”.
Goering got exasperated said,”OK! Let us have the last question”.
Rabi: The Third question,” Two men wearing WHITE clothes slide down a chimney. One emerges spotless, other all darkened with soot. Who will go for a WASH”?
Now Goering got really annoyed and said “What nonsense this question has been comprehensively answered and yet you pose again”.
Rabi: “No Mr. Goering, this is a fresh question. Please answer.”
Goering:” Well I don’t know of any third answer. Both the possible answers have already been tried”.
Rabi: “The correct answer is, it is impossible for one person to remain spotless and one dirtied, if both have undergone identical experience.” The correct answer to all three was this only. But you without referring to the Basics kept mulling over frivolous details”.
Hinduism too says one thing,”Go to the basics”.
The FOUR MAHAVAKYAS’ The Kernel of Upanishads’ emphasize that “Superimposition of WE over ME is God hood. Dharma is an attempt to manifest the inner self. Understanding ones own consciousness is DHARMA. Being a more alive and a conscious person is DHARMA”.
I would like to distinguish between Religion and Dharma with another analogy. We say “अग्नि का धर्म है जलाना”। now let us translate it verbatim. It would say “The Religion of Fire is to Burn”. The statement becomes meaning less. Hence it is evident that Religion and DHARMA are two very distinct ideas.

Most of the apologists decrying “Hinduism or Hindutva” do it by cognizing PRIESTCRAFT for Hinduism.
The level of discussion on Hindutva in the Talk shows in the media with Pygmies masquerading as Intellectuals is of the level of EKTA KAPOOR serials. Totally devoid of any substance. These talk shows are vain efforts to have a fabricated consciousness.

I am a Hindu as it TELLS ME “Aham Brahmasmi”. As it says “Atho Jigyas Bhav” as it says “Ekal Satya, Vipra Bahudha Vadanti”. As it liberates me to THINK and not be relegated to being a “Great Beast” of Alexander Hamilton.

Karl Marx,Marxism and Hinduism

In my earlier Blog I had written that Marx had no knowledge of Hinduism. I was partially incorrect as he had indeed commented on Hinduism in his certain essays.
Karl Marx wrote about Hinduism being a religion of worshipping cows and monkeys. He called it a religion of absolute deprivation and forced ascetics. So he did have some knowledge of Hinduism but very evidently a second hand percept and a weak knowledge of Hinduism as a religion. His words and views merely reflected the views of the Christian missionary writers of that time. There is no record of his reading of any Hindu scriptures.
Any one who has studied Hinduism beyond the visible rituals would verily perceive his folly. Hinduism as practiced in Non Dualism as a philosophy is a precursor to communism. The Isa Upanishad shloka

Amply demonstrate the desire of an all round growth. Bahujan Hitay Bahu Jan Sukhay also speaks of Greater Good for Greater Mass.
Marxism also speaks about Mass Upliftment. About rule of the Workers.
The distinction being, Marxism professed physical force as an essential instrument. Whereas Hinduism lay more emphasis on Inner transformation and the Strength of Soul was construed as the applied force.
Initially Marx under Hegel too, to certain extent believed in the said percept of Inner Strength. Latter on he moved on to more physical domain with the influence of Feuerbach and Engels. Yet when Marx writes that “Emancipation of a Man is brought about by his completeness. By destruction of his ego. By his realization of his inner self devoid of other embellishments of citizenship and other trappings”. He is talking about Morality and Hinduism percepts are evident.in his statements.
When Swami Vivekanand says that to a hungry man Bread is his God. He though a great Hindu seer is talking Marxism.
Marx professed the rule of Proletariat. Vivekanand said the next leaders would be one who is “Dasasya Dasam” . Hinduism is of service to the Proletariat whereas Marxism is the Rule of Proletariat.
Marx is all but a failure today. Even during his life time he remarked “Thank god I am not a Marxist”. His most ardent successors both Lenin and Stalin were not Marxist in the real sense. The Mass Murders of your own fellowmen to promote your Concepts can not be termed as Marxism or rule of the Proletariat. Marx Marx did not believe in Party. He was an ardent supporter of Multi Party democracy and Press Freedom. He would had strongly objected to the sort of Governance where the Government derives its strength from Secret Police keeping an eye on its populace.
Marx looked at Hinduism as a religion with all its ill hackneyed rituals.He had no perception of “DHARMA”. The very fact that basically Hinduism was not a religion but a “DHARMA” was alien to him. His basic understanding of religion was borne out of semetic religions. Principally that of Christianity and to a much lesser extent Islam.

जब कभी आईना देखता हूँ
सिहर उठता हूँ
हर बार एक नया चेहरा
हर बार आईना
एक बिना धार के चाकु से
मेरे व्यक्तित्व का
कुछ न कुछ अंश
तराश ही देता है।
और फिर मुझे
इस क्षीण होते
व्यक्तित्व की विभीषिका
से भय लगता है।
कभी कभी प्रतीत होता है
कि सम्भवतः अगली बार
जब आईना देखूं
तो उसमें,
मेरा लुप्तप्रायः व्यक्तित्व
शायद नजर ही न आए।
अब अब इस सम्भावना से निजात हेतू
मैने हाल के
अपने बिखरे छितरे चेहरे को
समेट कर
उसकी एक तस्वीर बनवा ली है
समय कहीं बदरंग न कर दे,
इसीलिये इस तस्वीर को शीशे में मढ़ दिया है।
अब आईने में न सही
आईने के बाहर तो
कम से कम कहीं तो बचा रहेगा मेरा व्यक्तित्व
जिसे मैं खुद भी निहार पाउंगा
और परीचितों के समकक्ष भी
चाहे निष्प्राण ही
प्रस्तुत कर पाउंगा।
कहीं तो, इसी तरह बाकी रह जायेगा
ये मेरा चेहरा।

Myth Of Mrs. Indira Gandhi Part -II

India Today had done a survey sometime back. It sought Public opinion that about as per public perception who had been the best Prime Minister of India. Mrs. Gandhi ranked First. As usual all such surveys mostly depict vacuous nature of both of the psephologists and that of the people surveyed. The most glaring example of such vacuous surveys was one conducted by Readers Digest in 1999. They had conducted a survey about the Most Important Event of 20th Century. The event that got highest votes was Death of Princess Diana. Second World War with millions of casualty came a poor second. This one example proves the Caliber of the voting masses.
Mrs. Gandhi’s first major move was to arrange the dismissal of first Communist Government of Kerala elected in 1957.This was the first occasion in the world to see a Communist Government coming into power through Popular Mandate. Mrs. Gandhi who was AICC president spent party fund to woo MLA’s and organize the collapse of a democratically elected Government. Pundit Nehru the then PM was dismayed by this act of Mrs. Gandhi and called her a DICTATOR for her this deed. This was one of the first signs of things to come and her dictatorial traits.
She became Prime Minister in 1966. Her incompetence in the Parliament till 1969 gave her the nickname of “Goongi Gudiya” or the “Dumb Doll”.
She tried to break the mould by deceit in the Presidential Elections. Then to gain cheap popularity she broke all laws by “Nationalizing the Banks” and “Abolishing Privy Purse”.
She lost in court on both issues. Then she had to revert to extra constitutional amendments through Parliament. Abolition of Privy Purse was grossly illegal. Mrs. Gandhi engineered abrogation of trust with Government of India. After all the Privy Purse was borne out of an Agreement signed by Government of India. Its abrogation was Loss of Trust in Government Instruments.
Then came the infamous phrase “COMMITTED JUDICIARY”. Now it was deemed that even the Judiciary must come under the control of the Government of the day and pursue the policies of THE GOVERNMENT. It went against the basics of Independence and multi party democracy. Mrs. Gandhi in a bid to obtain “COMMITTED JUDICIARY” superseded Three Senior Judges and promoted a Junior Judge to the post of Chief Justice. Another Independent institution was made subservient to the INFAMOUS POLITICAL MASTERS.
Maybe some of the aforesaid events brought some benefits yet “A Rape can not be sanctified, even if the child borne out of the rape be as brilliant as Einstein”. Mrs. Gandhi was merely busy raping or destroying institution to strengthen her tentacles on Power. Any consequential benefit was merely a coincidence.

Secularism and Indian Media

सन 1883 में कार्ल मार्क्स की मृत्यु पर उसके परम मित्र एव understudy फ्रेडरिक एंगेल्स ने शोक संवाद में कहा था कि मार्क्स ने अब सोचना बन्द कर दिया है। अर्थात जिन्दगी और मौत के दर्म्यान का फर्क सिर्फ सोचने या नहीं सोचने का है। अतएव जो लोग नहीं सोचते हैं वे तो मर चुके हैं और जो दूसरे की सोच पर अंकुश लगाते हैं वे उनकी हत्या कर रहें हैं।

अभी हाल में तथाकथित धर्म सम्बन्धित दो घटनायें हुंई। पहली मैंगलौर में जहां किसी श्री राम सेना ने पब में शराब पीती हुई लड़कियों के साथ हाथापाई की और उन्हें वहां से भाग जाने पर मजबुर किया। एक सम्पूर्णतया निन्दनीय वाकया है। किसी व्यक्ति विशेष को किसी अन्य व्यक्ति पर अपनी मान्यतायें थोपने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है।कानून अपने हाथ में लेने वाले के साथ सख्ती से पेश आना सरकार की जवाबदेही है।
इसके साथ एक और प्रश्न उठता है मीडीया में इस घटना के प्रक्षेपण का । इस आम घटना को इतना तूल दिया गया कि मानो एक और मुम्बई घट रहा हो।सारे टी वी चैनेलों ने इस समाचार को काफी Prominence दी। आरोपी के किसी पुराने वक्तव्य से जोड़ कर उसे मालेगांव बम धमाके से जोड़ने का प्रयास भी किया। साथ ही तमाम "हिन्दुवादी संस्थाओं" यानि संघ से जुड़ी सभी संस्थाओं को भी बिना किसी सबूत के इस घटना के अप्रत्यक्ष दोषी के रुप में रंगने का प्रयास भी किया।
वहीं एक दूसरी घटना ::पांच फनवरी को अंग्रेजी के समाचार पत्र ने एक आलेख छापा "Why should i respect oppressive Religions". यह लेख ब्रिटिश समाचार पत्र "The Independent" से उद्धृत है। इस लेख में किसी भी "Oppressive Religion" के खिलाफ लिखा गया है। इसमें मूलतः इसाई एवं इस्लाम धर्म्गुरुओं की मानसिकता पर प्रश्न खड़े किये गये हैं।मूल मुद्दा है कि सोचने और विश्वास (Thought, belief) पर अंकुश लगाने का अधिकार किसी को नहीं है। किसी भी विषय पर स्वस्थ बहस स्वीकार्य ही नहीं लाजिमी भी होनी चाहिये।

ख़तिपय इस्लाम धर्मगुरुओं को यह लेख बहुत नागवार लगा। उन्होंए लिख कर पुलिस कमीश्नर को शिकायत की। यहां तक तो औचित्य या अनौचित्य से परे गणतान्त्रिक अधिकार की परिसीमा का उल्लंघन नहीं किया।
लेकिन 6 फनवरी और सात फनवरी लगातार दो दिन तक The Statesman की कलकत्ते की Office के बाहर अवैध प्रदर्शन एवं मार्ग अवरोध सीधे सीधे अपराध की श्रेणी में आते हैं।यह एक समाचार पत्र की स्वतन्त्रता पर अंकुश लगानेए का कुत्सित प्रयास है। लेकिन कमाल है हमारी किसी भी SECULAR मीडिया ने इस समाचार पर दो शब्द की टिप्पणी भी नहीं की।कहां एक कुछ दसेक व्यक्तियों द्वारा पब में शराब पीती हुई लड़कियों के साथ की गयी हाथापाई और दूसरी तरफ एक सम्माननीय समाचार पत्र में छपे एक आलेख को लेकर एक बड़े जनसमूह द्वार शहर के एक प्रमुख मार्ग का दो दिनों तक अवरोध । समाचार पत्र में छपे आलेख का शान्तिप्रद विरोध करने का कानूनी तरीका भी है। अगर धर्म विरोधी या धार्मिक भावनाओं को उकसाने का आरोप साबित किया जा सके तो यह एक दण्डनीय अपराध है। लेकिन श्री राम सेना की तर्ज में इस्लामिक शक्तियों का कानून की परवाह न करना एक दण्डनीय अपराध है। उधर यहां चुंकि कलकत्ते में मुस्लिम अपराधियों की संख्या एव कारवाई को देखते हुये यह कहा जा सकता है।कि यह अपराध हर मायने में बैंगलौर की घटना से अधिक दण्डनीय है। लेकिन कलकत्ते की इस घटना को अन्य किसी भी समाचार पत्र या टी वी ने Cover ही नहीं किया। वहां मैंगलौर में पूर्व जानकारी के आधार पर मीडिया को बुला कर मिडिया की उपस्थिति में दस मिनट तक इस घटना को अन्जाम होने दिया गया। जब पूर्व जानकारी थी तो पुलिस को बुला कर इस अवांछनीय घटना से बचा जा सकता था।लेकिन तब सनसनी कैसे पैदा होती। मीडिया टी आर पी के लिये कुछ भी करेगा।
भारतीय मीडिया प्रतीत होता है कि सब समय हिन्दुओं के खिलाफ बोलने का मौका ढुढंता रहता है।
समाचार पत्र पर रोक लगाने का प्रयास अत्यन्त घृणित उपक्रम है।समाचार पत्र या टी वी को समाज के चौथे स्तम्भ के रुप में माना गया है।मीडिया हमारी सोच को ही प्रतिबिम्बित करता है । लेकिन नहीं इनके मापदण्ड अलग समाज के लिये अलग अलग है। किसी भी अल्पसंख्यकों के जुर्म को IGNORE करना और कहीं से भी हिन्दुओं के खिलफ कोई महक आजाये मीडिया का तुरन्त दौड़ पड़ना ।
मनुष्य और पशु में एक मात्र फर्क सोचने की शक्ति का है। वैचरिक व लेखन की स्वतन्त्रता सभ्य समाज का पहला सोपान है। एक चीनी कहावत है कि "Growth is the only sign of life" वहीं एन्गेल्स के कथनानुसार सोचना ही जिन्दगी का द्योतक है। हम सोच की हत्या कर समाज की हत्या कर रहें है।
एक शायर ने सही ही कहा है,
"हम आह भी भरते हैं तो हो जाते हैं बदनाम।
वो कत्ल तक कर देते हैं, चर्चा नहीं होती।"

आज पाक युद्ध का खतरा क्षितिज पर मंडरा रहा है। स्वाभाविक तौर से इस विषय में जनमत हेतु mass मीडिया में काफी गोष्ठियां व वार्तायें हो रहीं हैं। अनेक गोष्ठियों में लोग इन्दिरा गान्धी की statesmanship,बहादुरी की चर्चा कर रहें हैं। हमारे जानकार गण यथा श्रीमान पार्थसारथी ने कहा कि इन्दिरा जी से पाकिस्तानी डरने लग गये थे। कुछ लोग कह रहें हैं कि आज हमारे पास वैसा बहादुर व्यक्तित्व वाला नेतृत्व का अभाव हमारे देश की कमजोरी बन गया है।
कभी कभी कुछ लोग अज्ञानवश ऐसे भ्रम का शिकार होते हैं और कभी कभी तथाकथित उंची आवाज एवं larger then life छवि वाले लोग ऐसे भ्रम पैदा करवाने में सफल होते रहें हैं।इन्दिरा जी की राजनीतिक सूझबूझ,statesmanship या बहदुरी,एक मिथक के रुप में कफी समय से चर्चा का विषय रही है।आजके परिपेक्ष में इस मुद्दे पर चर्चा आज की परीस्थितियों का बेहतर आंकलन करने में सहायक होगी।
वहां: सन 1971 में पाकिस्तान के आम चुनाव के पश्चात पूर्वी पाकिस्तान की आवामी लीग का बहुमत पश्चिमी पाकिस्तानी के आकाओं एवं पंजाबी बाहुल्य पाकिस्तानी सेना को बिलकुल भी गवारा नहीं था। पुर्वी पाकिस्तानी या वहां का बंगाली पश्चिमी पाकिस्तान में हमेशा से दोयम दर्जे का गरीब व मूर्ख नागरिक माना जाता था। इन मान्यताओं के बीच इस्लामाबाद की गद्दी एक बंगाली को सौंप देना , तात्कालीन पश्चिमी पाकिस्तान को गवारा नहीं हुआ। फलस्वरुप जनमत कुचलने हेतू सेना द्वारा दलन और कत्ले आम का कुचक्र चलाया जा रहा था। अल्प समय में ही पाकिस्तानी सेना पूर्वी पाकिस्तान या बांग्लादेश में दुश्मन सेना हो चुकी थी।
यहां: इन्दिरा गान्धी को सन 1966 में कुछ मनसबदार नेताओं, ने अपने स्वार्थ वश, भारत का कठपुतली प्रधानमन्त्री बनाया । उनकी प्रधानमन्त्री के रुप में जो छवि थी कि मोरारजी भाई ने उनको गुंगी गुडिया की पदवी दे डाली। सन 1969 तक इन्दिरा जी संसद में पूरी तरह अपनी अक्षमताओं का परिचय दे चुकी थी। सन 1969 में राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में अभूतपूर्व भितरघात करते हुये अपने ही द्वारा नामांकित उम्मीदवार के खिलाफ प्रचार कर उसे हरवाया। सन 1967 के चुनाव में वैसे भी कांग्रेस की स्थिति बिगड़ चुकी थी। सन 1971 में इन्दिरा गान्धी की संसद स्वयं अपनी स्थिति भी काफी कमजोर थी।
युद्ध : इन्दिरा गान्धी को इस पृष्ठभुमि में अपनी कमजोर स्थिति से उबरने का एक अवसर नजर आया। पूर्वी बंगाल से काफी तादाद में हिन्दु शरणार्थी भारत आ रहे थे।उन्हीं दिनों भारत के एक विमान का अपहरण कर भुट्टो की नजरों के सामन्र लाहौर हवाई अड्डे पर उड़ा दिया गया। पूर्वी पाकिस्तान में जनमत देखते हुए इन्दिरा गान्धी ने शनैः शनैः भारतीय सेना को मुजीब वाहिनी के भेष पूर्वी पाकिस्तान में प्रवेश करवाया। जब दिसम्बर के महीने में अधिकारिक रुप से युद्ध शुरु हुआ तब तक वहां, पाकिस्तानी सेना सम्पूर्ण रुप से HOSTILE TERRITORY में थी। इस लिये युद्ध जीतना आसान हो चुका था।
परिणाम: बहुचर्चित धारणा है कि भारत को इस युद्ध से काफी लाभ हुआ है। मेरी धारणा है कि बांग्लादेश की आजादी भारत के लिये लाभ नहीं हानि का सौदा था। सन 1971 तक पूर्वी पाकिस्तान आर्थिक रुप से पाकिस्तान एक एक गरीब अंग था। सन 1971 के युद्ध के पहले पाकिस्तानी सेना अपने नरसंहार के द्वारा वहां तकरीबन तीस लाख लोगों का खून बहा चुकी थी। पूर्वी पाकिस्तान के प्रति पश्चिमी पाकिस्तान का रवैया कभी भी सौहार्द पूर्ण नहीं रहा था। भाषा के मुद्दे पाकिस्तान के दोनों धड़ों में गहरे मतभेद व्याप्त थे। इन सब के बीच अगर इन्दिरा जी ने सूझबूझ का परिचय दे वहां सिर्फ गृहयुद्ध को ही बढावा दिया होत्ता , तो शायद आजतक पाकिस्तान का पूर्वी अंग, पाकिस्तान का भारी रुप से रिस रहा कैन्सर का फोड़ा बन कर पाकिस्तान को अन्दर ही अन्दर कमजोर कर रहा होता। पूर्वी पाकिस्तान की शेष पाकिस्तान से भौगोलिक दूरी उसे कभी भी एक Contiguous/Harnonious प्रदेश का रुप लेने नहीं देती। भाषाई मतभेद और अपरोक्ष भारतीय हस्तक्षेप इस हिस्से को पाकिस्तान के लिये एक बड़ी समस्या के रुप में जीवित रखने में कामयाब होता। और फलस्वरुप काश्मीर और आतंकवाद की समस्या आज की तुलना मे 10 प्रतिशत भी नहीं हो पाती।

SECULARISM
भारत आरम्भ से ही धर्म निरपेक्ष राज्य रहा है। यों SECULAR शब्द को संविधान की प्रस्तावना में घुसेड़ने का श्रेय श्रीमती इन्दिरा गान्धी का है। घुसेड़ने शब्द का प्रयोग बहुत ही प्रासंगिक है। जब सन 1947 से ही 'सर्व धर्म सम्भाव' की भावना एवं कार्यप्रणाली हमारे तन्त्र का आवश्यक अंग थी,तो इसे संविधान की प्रस्तावना में घुसेड़ना, श्रीमती गान्धी द्वारा किया गया सिर्फ एक सस्ती लोकप्रियता भुनाने का प्रयास भर था।
वैसे धर्म निरपेक्षता और Secular दो अलग अलग संज्ञायें हैं। साधारणतया Secular शब्द का अर्थ होता है धर्म विहीनता या धर्म की अनुपस्थिति जबकि धर्म निरपेक्षता का अर्थ है 'सर्व धर्म सम्भाव' या आधिकारिक रुप से किसी भी विषय पर धर्म के आधार पर कोई निर्णय नहीं लेना। इस सारे संवाद में एक मूलभुत कठिनाई है। अंग्रेजी में 'धर्म' के लिये कोई शब्द है ही नही, तो 'धर्म निरपेक्षता' के लिये अंग्रेजी शब्द ढुंढना पूर्णतया बेमानी है।
शायद संविधान में धर्म और RELIGION के फर्क को समझने का कोई प्रयास नहीं किया गया है। इसीलिये secular शब्द को घुसेड़ कर इन्दिरा गांधी ने मूर्खता या बाजारु Populist प्रक्रिया का परिचय भर ही दिया है।
अगर हम मूल भावना की ओर जाते हैं तो धर्म निरपेक्ष अधिक सही बैठता है। Secular या धर्म विहीनता मनुष्य को इन्सानियत से ही परे कर देती है।
यहाँ महात्मा गांधी को उद्धृत करना अत्यन्त प्रासंगिक है। गान्धी जी ने अपनी आत्मकथा में लिखा है कि भारत में राजनीति एवं धर्म को अलग अलग नहीं किया जा सकता। इस संवाद को समझने के लिये गांधी जी को एवं धर्म शब्द को परिभाषित करने की आवश्यकता है। अरविन्द घोष ने कहा था कि सनातन धर्म के उत्थान व जागरण में ही भारत का उत्थान व जागरण निहित है।
विश्व में हिन्दू धर्म एक अकेला ऐसा धर्म है,जो किसी भी भौगोलिक राष्ट्र के संरक्षण की आवश्यकता महसूस नहीं करता। ब्रिटेन जैसे अग्रणी राष्ट्र का राज्य धर्म Protestant है। अमेरीका में अलग अलग प्रान्तों के अलग अलग अलग राज्य धर्म हैं।
भारत का एक तथाकथित अभिजात्य या बुद्धिजीवी वर्ग आज हिन्दुत्व शब्द मात्र को ओछा एवं घृणित मानने लगा है।सरकार की प्रत्यक्ष एव अप्रत्यक्ष सोच यह ही है कि यहां सिर्फ हिन्दुओं को ही धर्मनिरपेक्ष रहना है,अन्य सभी धर्म वालों को मनमानी करने के सारे अधिकार हैं। अंग्रेजी की कहावत की "To Bear One's Cross" हिन्दु चुंकि एक Majority है और जांत पांत के नाम पर बंटी हुई है और अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय का वोट बैंक है इसलिये हिन्दुओं को चुपचाप सरकारी apartheid सहन करना लाजिमी है। यानि secularism का "Cross Bear" सिर्फ बहुसंख्यक की जिम्मेदारी है। शेष समाज अल्पसंख्यक के नाम पर महज 10% अंक प्राप्त भर कर लेने से secular का दर्जा प्राप्त कर लेता है लेकिन हिन्दुओं के लिये पास मार्क्स 100% हैं।
भारत में secularism एक ऐसा शब्द हो गया है कि आप हिन्दु शब्द का उच्चारण मात्र करने से या तिलक लगा लेने से Fanatic या कम से कम non secular की परिधी में तो आ ही जाते हैं। कुछ हद तक हिन्दी प्रेमी भी सन्देह के घेरे में तो आ ही जाते हैं। अगर आपको सेक्युलर दिखना है तो अंग्रेजी में बातें कीजिये,अंग्रेजी में लिखिये।
सर्वोच्च न्यालाय ने भी धर्मान्तरण को धर्म निरपेक्षता के दायरे में रखने से मना किया है। तथापि कुछ राज्यों में यथा ओड़ीशा में लागु "Freedom of Religion Act" को अल्पसंख्यकों ने धार्मिक कट्टरवाद की संज्ञा दी है। सर्वोच्च न्यालाय ने कहा था प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने धर्म को मानने,प्रचार करने एवं प्रसार करने की स्वतन्त्रता है। लेकिन धर्मान्तरण प्रचार एव प्रसार की परिसीमा के बाहर है। किसी भी व्यक्ति या समूह को प्रलोभन या अन्य किसी प्रकार के मिथ्याचरण से वशीभुत कर धर्मान्तरण करवाना उस व्यक्ति की धार्मिक स्वतन्त्रता पर कुठाराघात है। स्वामी विवेकानन्द ने तो यहां तक कहा है कि, एक धर्मान्तरित हिन्दु से सिर्फ एक हिन्दु की संख्या कम ही नहीं होती है,वरन एक शत्रु की संख्या भी बढ़ जाती है।
इसाई प्रचारकों के अनेक संवाद हैं जहां धर्मान्तरण को अत्यन्त महत्व दिया गया है। यहां तक कि स्वय पोप ने अपनी भारत की यात्रा के दौरान कहा था 'Conversion is the Basic Tenet of Christianity'। यह दारुल इस्लाम की नाईं 'Land Of Christianity' और 'civilising others is the white mans burden' द्वारा एक और exclusivism का परिचय है।
धर्म निरपेक्षता भारत में सिर्फ वोट बटोरने का एक बाजा हो कर रह गया है। एक भी राजनैतिक दल इस पर इमानदारी से काम करने के लिये आग्रही नहीं है। पाकिस्तान में कहा जाता है कि मदरसों को सरकार से मान्यता प्राप्त करनी आवश्यक होगी। वहीं पशिम बंगाल के मुख्यमन्त्री यहां ऐसा कहने के तुरन्त पश्चात माफी मांगते हुये अपना बयान वापस लेते हैं। एक धर्म निरपेक्ष राज्य के प्रधान मन्त्री किस हक से धर्म के नाम पर एक वर्ग विशेष को "राष्ट्रीय संसाधनों पर प्रथमाधिकार" देने का बयान देते हैं मेरी समझ से परे है। यह सिर्फ तुष्टीकरण है या एक राजनैतिक चाल है। पहले जति के नाम पर आरक्षण अब धर्म के आधार पर आरक्षण। जहां अंग्रेजों ने भारत को दो टुकड़ों में बांटा ये तुच्छ एव टुच्चे नेता इस राष्ट्र के सौ टुकड़े कर देंगे। क्या विडम्बना है कि ये सारी ओछी राजनीति secularism के नाम पर ही हो रही है। विरोधी स्वरों को धार्मिक कट्टरता की संज्ञा दे कर अपनी संख्या की दुन्दुभी से दबा जिया जाता है।
भाजपा एव संघ को कट्टरवादी करार देना मीडिया की वामपथी या "राजनैतिक CORRECT" छवि बनाने के तहत एक मजबूरी है। आजतक एक भी सार्थक बहस इस मुद्दे पर नहीं हो पायी है कि कौन सा राजनैतिक दल भाजपा की तुलना में कम साम्प्रदायिक है। दूरदर्शन में अनेक बार इस मुद्दे पर बहस का नाटक होता रहता है। लेकिन वहां भी तर्क से परे फेंफड़ों की शक्ति का आह्वान ही होता है। कतिपय पैनेलिस्ट के तर्कों को सुनकर तो प्रतीत होता है कि उनकी परिभाषा के अनुसार तो गांधी,अरविन्द घोष,स्वामी विवेकनन्द इत्यादि सभी हिन्दु कट्टरवादी थे।
तथाकथित मीडिया में बैठे लोग अद्भुत व चमत्कारी कुड़ा करकट पैदा करने की क्षमता रखते हैं। इनका अज्ञान और इनकी अक्षमता दोनो एक दूसरे के पूरक है।
आजादी के पहले मुस्लिम लीग, कांग्रेस पर हिन्दु कट्टरता के जो जो इल्जाम लगा रही थी, आज कांग्रेस, भाजपा पर सारे के सारे वे ही इल्जाम लगा रही है। यानि आज कांग्रेस मुस्लिम लीग के आसन पर है और भाजपा कांग्रेस के।यह तो सर्व विदित है कि भारत के विभाजन में सबसे अधिक भूमिका मुस्लिम लीग की ही रही है। यानि आज कांग्रेस अपनी पूरी सक्रियता से मुस्लिम लीग के सम विघटनात्मक गतिविधियों मे बद्ध है। आजतक भारत में जितनी भी विघटनत्मक कार्य हुए हैं यथा भिन्डरेवाला , उल्फा, बोडो या JKLF इनके सबके नेताओं के पार्श्व में कांग्रेसक़ का हाथ रहा है। उदाहरण के तौर पर भिन्डरेवाला को कांग्रेस ने तात्कालीन अकाली एवं भाजपा गठबंधन सरकार को मुश्किल में डालने हेतू स्वर्ण मन्दिर में स्थापित करवाया। वह ही भस्मासुर बन इन्दिरा जी को लील गया। भारत में balkanisation के तमाम काम कांग्रेस अपने अदूरदर्शिता व शार्ट्कट्स के तहत करवाती रही है।
भारत का सुविधावादी तथाकथित बुद्धिजीवी (गमले में उपजा वर्ग), तो सिर्फ अपनी और अपनों की सुनता है।इनमें से चाटुकारों और चारणों को अगर निकाल दिया जाये तो इनकी संख्या 99% तक कम हो जायेगी।

I have been mulling over writing on the recent terrorist attacks on Mumbai. It would had been demeaning to not to write something when the hoi polloi’s viz., Ms De could put her two bit in. What really got my goose was the grand statement of DAUGHTER/SISTER of the heir apparent that she missed her Dad or Grand Ma. There is a wide spread myth that She or He was any better administrator then the current incumbents.
The TV channels paraded the celebrity as if the media was covering Lakme fashion Week. These people may have something to say about the neckline or the hemline designed by one of those Greater then life yet inconsequential "designers" of sartorial or skin elegance. But expecting them to speak about India that they know less then nothing about is height of stupidity. For most of them the Nation exists between the lobby of a Five Star hotel and their Drawing Rooms. The ones who cant distinguish between Carpet Bombing and Carpet dusting to mouth advises on matters of such gravity is plain simple TRIVIALISING the issue. Gentlemen leave aside India they simply are aliens and know nothing about the whole planet.
I was trying to search for a title for my two bit. Now to call the attack as: AN ACCIDENT or A DISASTER or a MINOR INCIDENT as explained by the Ex Dy. CM was dicey. The competitive media made it more “infotaining” then a 20-20 match.
I have read considerable bit on the subject and would like to comment on the so called 'POLITICALLY CORRECT" writers. The first magazine, which I could lay, my hands on that had covered the subject was the Elite "NEWSWEEK". Elite as its of PHOREN origin.There were four articles by different authors, without saying anything and casting innuendos on Indian state and society. Apparently it’s more important to be politically correct then to be sensible. One Mr. Ganguly analyzed the attack borne out of DICRIMINATION AGAINST MUSLIMS BY THE STATE. He cited one statistics that Muslims are only 3% in IAS instead of their representational number 13.6%. If he is correct that it’s due to discrimination, then state is guilty of basic Human Rights and the UPSC is flouting the secular constitution. I remember reading in a Pakistani Newspaper sometime back, wherein they had blamed the India system of Education for low percentage of Muslim graduates. Their contention was that the examiners in India ensure that Muslim students are not allowed to pass in examinations. The examiners see the names and mark according to the surnames visible. This theory has one basic flaw that in India all universities and Boards do not have any space for writing names of examinees. Only Roll Nos are mentioned. Now I would not be able to distinguish the religion of two persons by their roll numbers. Mr Ganguly says that the UPSC can distinguish and does it actively and thereby ensures that Muslims do not qualify for the IAS posts.
Gentlemen its stupid. They do not qualify because the level of education amongst Muslims is abysmally low. The cause is the Muslim society, where modern education is given an extreme low priority.
Mr Shekhar revolved his article around the axis of POTA. As if POTA is the ultimate panacea. It’s rarely the law but its implementation that’s what makes the difference.
Mr Farid Zakaria said that BJP or Hindu Fundamentalist forces are anti muslim. Even he was talking about institutional discrimination against Muslims. The facts are quite contrary. Muslims are appeased lot in India. They can get away with worse crimes then they would dare try in Islamic Nations. Haj subsidy, Central Funding for Muslim IAS aspirants, Sacchhar Committee, Minority Commission etc ensure that they are never discriminated at least institutionally in India.
The fourth article was totally devoid of any substance.
In the TV shows certain Muslim celebrity tried to pin it on Babri Masjid. On an insipid statement of Simi a young person in the tenor of a pseudo secular terrorist started berating Simi. His remark that Pakistan is not an Enemy of India though may ring politically correct yet factually hollow and naïve. ENEMY is defined as a HOSTILE STATE. If Pakistan does not fit in it, then I do not understand basics of current affairs.
No one except the tainted “PIONEER” is prepared to mention one of the sad facts, that if the premier agencies like ATS are used for furthering poll prospects of the ruling party, we are leaving Nations flanks unguarded for the real enemies to launch their offensive.
Gentlemen Pakistan is an Enemy state. The wound of 1971 is festering for last 37 years. Their media has built a frenzy on the matter. I have read dozens of articles in Pakistani press, wherein they have blamed Gen Niazi for the FIRST EVER DEFEAT OF MUSLIM ARMY TO COWARD HINDU ARMY.

Why Ban RSS let us BAN HINDUISM

I have been hearing loud noises about banning RSS,VHP, Bajrang Dal etc. People are comparing these organizations with SIMI. Certain Politicians would like us to believe that VHP is worse then SIMI.
In this shrill of Banning RSS, I am reminded of the Bande Matram controversy in British India. Bande Matram was the most respected song of Indian Nationalists, sung by all and sundry whosoever was involved in the Freedom Struggle. A controversy erupted because a vague Muslim League leader objected to it. Thereafter as because certain Muslim League leaders began opposing it, a mid path was charted out by the Indian National Congress Secularist Leaders. They dropped the last four stanzas of the song Bande Matram and retained only the first two stanzas. Jinnah on gaining a toehold refused to accept this appeasement and demanded total ban on Bande Matram.
Similarly today if the Government on vote bank politics accepts the Ban on RSS. Tomorrow the so called Jinnahs present in India today would not accept this appeasement too. They would demand a Ban on HINDUISM it self.
The Media has a skewed BENCHMARK for Hinduism. The English Media largely perceive that for Hinduism the PASS MARKS are 100%. They have examined Hinduism on this anvil and have declared it to be a Domain of Fanatics. Their PASSMARKS for the MINORITIES is 10%. So as long as 100% of them do not resort to violence they are acceptable and preferable over Hindus.
So its better for the Government and its SECULAR POLITICAL leaders to go the whole distance in one go and BAN HINDUISM instead of taking one step at a time by banning RSS,VHP etc.,. As Hitler had banned Jews, and as one Pragya has been arrested, the secularists have the excuse and grounds. Now they can conveniently carry out the agenda of our neighbors and Ban Hinduism.

After all did not the west always chide Hinduism as an obscurantist religion? Did not Marx say Hinduism is opium of masses and Opium is a Bad thing? You are saying he said Religion instead of Hinduism. OK so let us Ban Religion with a rider that minorities would be free to profess, propagate, and proselytize. After all they have the first right on all national resources including NATIONAL CONSCIOUS. Their rights to do any thing and every thing are secured by Minority commission, Sacchhar Commission etc. Consequently the only Majority religion that’s Hinduism would stand Banned and baby does it not deserve to be banned. The so called secular Hindus are majorly apologetic of being a Hindu as if they have already sinned having taken Birth in a Hindu Family. Hindi, Hindu and Hindustan are pejorative terms. So I don’t think there would be much of a protest over it. Arrest of few more sadhus and sadhvis would throw such a scare amongst the so called scarce vocal Hindus that they would not raise their decibels.

The History as interpreted by Aligarh Muslim University and Jawaharlal Nehru University and what is being treated as the real Indian history, has all praises for the Muslim rule saying that it brought emancipation and sense of progressive ideas to the land of India. Though Historians viz., Jadu Nath Sircar and K S Lal have written that at least 50 Million Hindus were either converted or Killed during 1000AD to 1500AD. Murder and conversion of Hindus is of no consequence to the Eminent Historians of India. The destruction of Temples and other worship places viz., Ram Janm Bhoomi ,Krishna Janm Bhoomi and at least 500 such others, were instruments of emancipation of Hindus.
That was yesterday. Today the so called secular leaders blamed BJP and RSS for Amarnath Problem. A minor land issue was blown out of proportion by Huriyat and PDP. The spineless National Conference leaders succumbed to the pressure of the separatist forces. The media went to market blaming RSS. The National Flag carrying masses of Jammu were compared with the Pakistan flag carrying separatist forces. So the premium is on the Pakistani flag as compared to our Tricolour.

As it is a large segment of Indian Muslims even today do believe that Hindus do not how to rule. It’s the Muslims who have been the brave and courageous enough to wield weapon and hence knew how to rule the subservient Hindus. (FACT: In British India the India army had 50% Muslims.) That’s the reason they (25%) were able to rule over majority (75%) Hindus for such a long period.
So let the Hindus become subservient to the rest of the society. Don’t they deserve the servitude? Even Mahatma Gandhi said that “An average Hindu is a Coward”
Our PM too has reiterated it by saying that “Muslims must have the first right over national resources”. This is what Aurangzeb also meant, when he imposed Jaziya tax on Hindus. He stated that Hindus must pay extra taxes to be treated at par with Muslims. So Hindus were second class citizens then and they should remain so now or better still deprive them of citizenship. So let us once again herald the GOLDEN ERA and Ban Hinduism

The Changes under the Banning of Religion Act shall be as under
1) Saying I am a Hindu (proudly or sheepishly) would be treated as an act of sedition and attract disenfranchisement.
2) Performing overt Hindu acts viz., Hawan, Yagya would be treated as acts encouraging disobedience and shall be punishable under unlawful assembly act.
3) People naming their Children after the names of Hindu Gods viz., Ram or Krishna would be deemed heretics and deprived from getting Jobs in Government and PSU,s.
4) The Gita in court would be replaced by a picture of the Scion of Gandhi Family (as they alone are the real patriots in India).
5) The Ashok emblem would be replaced by a Picture of Babar, as Moguls only brought emancipation.
6) The Tricolour to be reduced to Bicolour. As the Saffron colour is the colour of the Hindu Forces.

Diwali

Well Diwali is the most celebrated festival in my family. Besides Lakshami Puja, lighting up the house, Fireworks distributing Sweets are the standard things in this celebration.
A few years back while I did buy lot of fireworks it suddenly dawned that the kids had already flown away from house (Like most other houses)and without kids ,lighting fireworks was no fun.
Then after some pondering I thought though our kids were not near yet there were loads of other kids in the neighborhood. I packed all my Fireworks and along with my spouse walked off to a nearby Orphanage. We carried sweets too. It was a great revelation and real quality time we spent there. So this initiated an annual pilgrimage.
Then again just for fun sake I thought of indulging in making a Rangoli (Supposedly a feminine chore).This year's effort is here in the blog.
This year we thought that while sweets are Food for the Gross Body let us give something for the subtle body too. We distributed Books too along with sweets.

In a major breakthrough the Orissa police on Thursday claimed that the
mastermind behind Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Laxamananda Saraswati's
killing had been identified as a group had hired the Maoists to execute
the crime.

"Maoists were given money to train certain youth of a particular community to
eliminate Saraswati," inspector general of police, crime branch, Arun
Ray told PTI asserting the mastermind of the killings had been identified.

Stating the mastermind had fled Orissa, the IG said "we will trace them soon."
The plan to eliminate Saraswati was made immediately after the
December, 2007 communal violence in Kandhamal, he added.

Elaborating the probe by the crime branch, Ray said investigations also showed that
a group had collected money from some villages in Kandhamal which was
given to the Maoist group to train their youth for the purpose. At
least 60 youth were given arms training by the Maoists, the IG said
dwelling on the inputs from the three arrested persons.

Ray said members of a particular community were unhappy with Saraswati and
held him responsible for the riots which took place during Christmas in
2007. They requested a Maoist group to assist them in killing
Saraswati, he said.

Confirming that six Telugu-speaking persons fired at Saraswati and others, the crime branch investigation revealed that the trained group were guarding the ashram at Jalespeta in Kandhamal during the incident.

Refusing to divulge identity and religion of the mastermind behind the killing which
sparked communal violence in Kandhamal, The IG said the Maoists only
executed the crime.
1) TILL NOW NO TV CHANNEL HAS COVERED THIS NEWS.
2) Why would Telgu speaking Maoists come from distant place to establish secular credentials and kill swamiji.
3) TOI has covered it as if Maoists are the real killers as indicted by police report. Ignoring the fact that they were merely hired killers.The actual persons responsible are different from Maoists.
4) Its all fair in war against BJP /VHP etc., And Truth as usual is the first casualty in a war.

Mr Shashi Tharoor you are wrong

This is a response to an Article penned by Mr Shashi tharoor and published by TOI (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Opinion/Columnists/Shashi_Tharoor/Stop_the_politics_of_division/articleshow/3585029.cms) on 12.10.08
Well Mr Shashi you are entitled to have your opinion right or wrong. Yet as a reader I would like to comment on certain incongruities in the said Article.
You have stated that the Anti Christian Violence has occurred as a consequence to Conversion or divisive politics. You have conveniently ignored that the immediate cause of Violence in Orissa was the murder of a Saint Swami Laxamananand Saraswati and wide spread perception that it was engineered by Christian Missionaries. In Karnataka it was distribution of a banned and derogatory booklet.
As per “The Orissa Freedom Of Religion Act 1967” any and all conversions are to be done after informing the district collector and in his presence. Till now on no occasion or maybe at best a couple of occasions when advance information has been given to the concerned authorities. In 1993, 21 Pastors were arrested also under the said act. Government under Congress regime immediately transferred the SP of the district.
Any conversion not as per law invites legal penal action.Yet it has been going on for decades with an extreme non chalance with the covert Government (Irrespective of the party in Power) sanction.
Besides in Orissa there is a Gross disparate aspect to the violence which again has been overlooked by you. Here the main warring parties are Kandhas and Panas. Their enemity goes back over several decades. Again it is because of several layers of issues. Panas though are schedule cast people but being Christian are not entitled to the “Reservation”. Thousands of them have obtained false certificates showing themselves to be Hindus. This has caused ire amongst the other dominant community i.e,Kandhas (Hindus).
Causing angst and violence.
There was a picture and a quote of Swami Vivekanand in your article published in TOI. Read what Swamiji had to say about conversion “One Hindu converted is not one Hindu less, but it is one enemy more”.
When you contend that being a non Hindu does not mean being an anti national.
I too could largely agree with you but for the secessionist activities of Christian Dominated North East and ethnic cleansing and secessionist activities in Muslim Dominated Kashmir. Timor is another live example.
I would concur with you that Hiduism is an inclusive religion with “Ekal Satya….”.
Yet the way Vatican City has opened retail counters peddling christianity and conversion, it is abhorrent.
The way TOI has been virulent in the matter it appears that they have either sold their soul to Missionaries or their Shares.

The First family goes to see a Movie (A Satire)

Mom ,mom lets go for a Movie. It was a leisurely Sunday afternoon. Children had been nagging, to take them to a movie.

Thence the Madam yielded and took them to a movie in one of the several multiplexes doting in and around Delhi. As she was already late she bought the tickets and entered the hall without much enquiry. The children started howling as soon as the movie began. Lo and behold, it was a foreign movie with subtitles. They could not understand the foreign movie and started shouting "what’s this mom. We can’t understand a word of it. Lets have popcorn and leave". Madam feeling exasperated got ready to leave and approached the manager asking for a refund of the ticket money i.e,100x3=300/-.

She asked the Manager "why it was not mentioned on the ticket counter that it was a foreign movie?" Manager "it is understood that people knew about the movie when they bought the tickets. Besides there were subtitles in English and hence she and her kids should not have any difficulty in understanding". Madam said “what humiliation. Don’t you know who I am? Even the country’s top Model Mr AB endorsed that we were the Rajas. He endorses Cadbury and you accept it to be a great chocolate. When he endorsed that we are the RAJA’s why don’t you accept that too. My children did not and need not go to school. They do not know how to read and write. They are born for just one task, that’s to do RAJ over India. Have you forgotten merely a few days back my Son had clarified that 1992 Babari Fiasco would not had taken place if He or Me or My Daughter were the Prime Minister in 1992. Yet you do fail to understand that this nation has no foot to stand on, if someone from our family is not in the CEO’s seat.”

If there was no need to prepare a CV ever or appear for a job interview, what was the necessity for them to attend a SCHOOL? Anyone from our family then “सिर्फ नाम ही काफी है।” So obviously they can’t read the subtitles. And it’s not my fault alone. It’s in the family tradition. None in the previous two generation did ever graduate too. So she and her children were merely keeping up the family tradition.

Hence as the Multiplex people had not mentioned on the counter that it was a foreign movie, she was entitled to get the refund. If she and her family were not going to comprehend the movie it was imperative that she got back her Rs.300/- that she had paid for the tickets. Now a days there was no Quattrochi around to help. And you are trying to act smart with me, as I could not occupy the CEO’s seat owing to my foreign origin. My children are still rulers in the making. Once my Son gets coroneted I would ensure that the Multiplex manager and owner both meet a fate worse then Ansals.

She thundered “You are humiliating the would be CEO of the India and the could had been the CEO of M/s India, jointly. Though currently I am not the chairperson of the M/s India, yet I do possess the remote control. If you do not refund the fare it would be extremely hazardous. I would ask the Home Minister what’s his name unnnh , whatever it is, to initiate a CBI enquiry on your misappropriation of my Rs.300/-.”

The mention of Ansal’s name was enough to cook the goose of the manager. He said madam even if it’s against the management rules I would refund the Rs.300/- from my own pocket and debit it to MY EDUCATION.

Swami Laxamananand Saraswati and Press

मार्क ट्वेन ने एक जगह लिखा है “If you do not read Newspapers you are UNINFORMED and if you do you are MISINFORMED”. मैं, पिछले दिनों स्वामी लक्षमणानन्दजी जी की हत्या और उसके फलस्वरूप उपजी हिंसा सम्बन्धी खबरों को कुछ नजदीक से ही पढ़ रहा था। नजदीक से पढ़ने का कारण कुछ तो स्वभाव गत सहज जिज्ञासा और कुछ इस कारण से कि, कुछ वर्ष पहले मुझे स्वामी लक्ष्मणानन्दजी से प्रत्यक्ष मिलने का अवसर प्राप्त हुआ था।
मैं आदतन अंग्रेजी के समाचार पत्र अधिक पढ़ता हूं। स्वामी जी कि हत्या और तत्पश्चात उपजी हिंसा सम्बन्धी समाचारों को अंग्रेजी समाचार पत्रों ने जिस तरह छापा है कि मुझे अनायास ही मार्क ट्वेन की उपरोक्त उक्ति याद हो आयी। हिंसा सर्वथा निन्दनीय है । हिन्दू धर्म में मनुष्य ही नहीं किसी भी जीवन्त वस्तु के खिलाफ तीनों आयाम यथा मनसा,वाचा, कर्मणा में से कोई भी आयाम की हिंसा वर्जित है। गांधी जी का भी एक बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध कथन है कि “An Eye for an Eye would leave the Whole World Blind”.

मैं मुद्दे से भटक रहा हूं। मुद्दा अंग्रेजी समाचार पत्रों एवं उनमें छपे समाचारों का है। समाचार पत्रों को समाज का चौथा स्तम्भ माना गया है। लेकिन प्रतीत ऐसा हो रहा है कि इस समूह ने सामाजिक गैरजिम्मेदारी के सारे कीर्तिमान तोड़ने की ठान ली है। सारे समाचार पत्र 98% कालम सेन्टीमीटर की स्पेस इस दृष्टिकोण को प्रतिपादित करने में लगे हैं कि स्वामी जी एक हिन्दू नेता थे,विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के नेता थे और उनकी हत्या माओवादियों ने की । विश्व हिन्दू परिषद मिथ्या प्रचार कर इसाईयों को निशाना बना रहा है। बेचारे इसाई बलि के बकरे सम हिंसा का शिकार हो रहें हैं। बड़े बड़े समाचार पत्रों के बड़े बड़े कालमिस्ट एवं संवाददाता मोटे हर्फों में छप रहें हैं। अधिकांश ने बगैर अपनी आर्म चेयर से उठे ये लेख लिख डाले। यह स्टालिनिस्ट मानसिकता का द्योतक है। मैं जो सोचता हूं वह ही सही है। भले ही Majority संख्या विपरीत सोचने वालों की हो। भले ही सापेक्ष प्रमाण खिलाफ हों ‘लेकिन सही तो मैं ही हूं’। यह ही तो स्टालिनवाद है।
किसी एक समाचार पत्र ने भी स्वामी जी की हत्या के सम्बन्ध में संजीदगी से 10 कालम सेन्टीमीटर भी खर्च नहीं किये। दो आदिवासी जातियों (पाण और अन्य) के बीच चली आ रही दशकों की वैमनश्यता को नकारते हुये सिर्फ RSS और विश्व हिन्दू परिषद को गाली देने की भूमिका निभा रहें हैं। पाण जाति के अनूसुचित जनजाति घोषित होने और उससे उपजी विषमता को कहीं भी समुचित रुप से उद्बोधित नहीं किया गया है। खैर ये तो बारीक तथ्य हैं इनके विषय में प्रेस क्लब के बार में बैठ कर जानना मुश्किल ही नही “डान के शब्दों” में असम्भव है।
लेकिन मोटे तथ्यों को नकारना उनकी नीयत को ही संदेह के घेरे में ला खड़ा कर देता है। आज की हिंसा को रोकने के लिये उसके पार्श्व की वजह समझनी आवश्यक है। George Santayana ने तकरीबन एक सौ वर्ष पहले कहा था कि “People who do not learn from their past are doomed to repeat it” अतएव हिंसा पर काबू तभी पाया जा सकेगा जब हम इसकी Genesis तक पहुंच पायें। सरकार अपने बाहुबल द्वारा टहनियों पर दवा छिड़क रही है जब कि बीमारी तने और जड़ में है। इस दवा से सम्भव है कि एक बार फिर पेड़ हरा भरा दिखने लगे लेकिन बीमारी यथास्थिति बनी रहेगी। Pain killers से Symptoms तो ठीक हो ही जाते हैं लेकिन कुछ समय बाद pain killers का effect कम होते ही बीमारी फिर सर उठा लेती है। जो चिकित्सक pain killers के द्वारा इलाज करते हों या तो उन्हें चिकित्सा पद्धति का ज्ञान नही है,या उनकी नीयत मरीज को ठीक करने की है ही नहीं।
आइये इन पत्रकार एवं सरकारी महानुभावों को तथ्यों से अवगत कराने का प्रयत्न किया जाये। स्वामी जी हत्या होने के आधे घन्टे के भीतर ही बिना किसी जांच पड़ताल के सरकारी हलकों द्वारा यह हत्या माओवादियों के मत्थे मढ़ दी जाती है। आइये इस आरोप को परखा जाये।
1) माओवादियों का इस आश्रम के आस पास के इलाके में कभी कोई आतंक नहीं रहा है।
2) अमूमन माओवादियों का पहला निशाना पुलिस होती है।
3) आश्रम में उपस्थित चारों पुलिस कर्मियों को माओवादी हाथ तक नहीं लगाते।
4) ओड़ीशा में माओवादियों में अधिकांश संख्या आदिवासियों की है।
5) स्वामीजी विगत चालीस वर्षों से वहां आदिवासी बच्चों को शिक्षा प्रदान कर रहे थे।
6) अतएव आदिवासियों की स्वामी के साथ किसी भी प्रकार की दुश्मनी होने की सम्भावना सहज गले के नीचे नहीं उतरती।
7) कथित माओवादियों की तरफ से एक पत्र आता है जिसमें Secularism के नाम पर हत्या की बात कही जाती है। इसके पहले भारत में कभी भी कहीं भी माओवादियों ने Secularism को लेकर किसी घटना को अंजाम दिया हो इसकी कोई मिसाल नहीं है।
8) आक्रमणकारियों ने चेहरे ढक रखे थे। माओवादी तो खुलेआम अपने आपको क्रान्तिकारी कह कर आक्रमण करते हैं। इनके नकाबपोश हो आक्रमण करने का भी इसके पहले का कोई उदाहरण नहीं है।
दूसरा पहलू है हत्या से प्रतिकार में उपजी हिंसा का। सारे समाचार पत्र का मजमून यों लगता है कि एक ही लेखक लिख रहा हो। सारे अन्य सभी मुद्दों को नकार कर सिर्फ विश्व हिन्दू परिषद और RSS को दोषी ठहराने में लगे हैं। मानो उस आदिवासी क्षेत्र में विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के हजारों की संख्या में कार्यकर्ता इसाईयों का कत्लेआम कर रहें हों।
स्वामीजी की शव यात्रा में तकरीबन पांच लाख लोग थे। क्या वे सभी विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के लोग थे? स्वामीजी जब उस क्षेत्र में समाज सेवा में चालीस वर्षों से कार्यरत थे ,क्या उनका एक प्रभाव क्षेत्र नहीं होगा? क्या जिन लोगों के जीवन को स्वामीजी ने विगत चालिस वर्षों में कभी न कभी छुआ होगा उनकी निर्मम हत्या(उन्हें सिर्फ गोली ही नहीं मारी गयी है , हत्या के पश्चात उनके पांवों को भी तीन टुकड़ों में काटा गया है) से उनका भड़कना अस्वाभाविक है?
भारत में सिर्फ अंग्रेजी में ही लिखने वाले secular हैं। इसीलिये हिन्दी में लिख कर मैं तुरन्त ही संदेह के घेरे में पहुंच जाता हूं। विश्व हिन्दू परिषद,हिन्दू संस्थायें और RSS Soft Target हैं उन्हें बिना किसी संकोच के कट्टर कहा जाता रहा है। Minorities के खिलाफ लिखने से कहीं न कहीं पूरातन पन्थी,हिन्दू कट्टरवादी व संघीय के लेबल लग जाने का भय घिर आता है। अल्पसंख्यक तुष्टीकरण सरकारी नीतियों से उपर उठ तथाकथित बौद्धिक समाज की सोच का बिम्ब हो गया है।
ये अपने आपको बुद्धिजीवी कहने वाले अग्रिम पंक्ति पर अधिकार जमा कर अपने आपको देश व समाज का कर्णधार समझने लगे हैं। मुश्किल यह है कि इनमें से अधिकांश या तो किसी व्यक्तिगत AGENDA के तहत् या बौध्दिक आलस्य के मारे सच्चाइयों से परे बुद्धिजीवी कहलाते हुये सिर्फ कलम जीवी हो कर रह गये हैं। कलम का बुद्धि से कोई सीधा रिश्ता नहीं है। कई Columnist हैं जो हर रविवार एवं अन्य दिन भी सिर्फ लफ्फाजी करते हैं और स्थायी स्तम्भ के रुप में छपते हैं। ये Page 3 संवाददाता सिर्फ भाषाई जमा खर्च या लफ्फाजी कर सत्ता के नजदीक पंहुंच सरकार व जनता दोनों के बीच रसूख बनाने में सफल हो पा रहें हैं। Lord Macculay की भाषा नीति ने जहां रूसो और वोल्टेयर की बयार बहाई वहीं बौद्धिक गुलामी की जंजीरें भी इस देश की किस्मत में लिख दी।
इस मोड़ पर आकर पहला प्रश्न जो उठता है कि क्या वजह है कि सब लोग इकट्ठे हो झुठ बोल रहें हैं।
1) सम्भवतः हत्या इसाई मिशनरियों के द्वारा करवाई गयी है और अल्पसंख्यकों के नाम पर ये इसाई मिशिनरी Aggressor और Victim दोनो का रोल निभा रहें हैं।
2) सरकार एवं प्रेस अपने चिर परीचित स्वभाव वश हिन्दू संगठनों को Soft Target पा झूठ बोल रही है।
3) एक और संभावना से इन्कार नहीं किया जा सकता की कहीं आर्थिक लेन देन भी समाचार पत्रों की इस संदेहास्पद भूमिका में एक कारण नहीं है।
4) कुछ दिन पहले एक रशियन एजेंट के खुलासे में यह बात कही गयी थी कि इन्दिरा गांधी के कार्यकाल में उन्होंने (रशिया ने) सैंकड़ों की संख्या में भारतीय समाचार पत्रों में मनचाहे लेख छपवाये थे।
यह गन्दी एवं ओछी राजनीति मुझ जैसे आम Secular व्यक्ति को भी अब अपनी मान्यतओं पर एक प्रश्न चिन्ह लगाने पर मजबूर कर देती है।

Midsummer Night’s Dream

कल रात सपनों में जब मेरी नींद खुली , अपने आपको पाकिस्तान के भूतपूर्व सेनापति नहीं नहीं राष्ट्रपति परवेज मुशर्रफ़ के रूबरु पाया। मन ने कहा, धत् तेरे की,कहां तो जबसे राखी सावन्त का शो देखा था, जुगत भिड़ा रहा था कि सपनों में राखी सावन्त से मुलाकात हो जाये और उन्हें नजदीक से देखकर, मैं उनके उस प्रश्न का उत्तर दे पाऊं की “ये तो बता, कि देखता है क्या”। खैर ये प्रोग्राम फिर किसी शाम या जाम के लिये मुल्तवी करते हुये सोचा कि भूतपूर्व राष्ट्रपति जी से ही मुलाकात कर ली जाये।
मुशर्रफ साहब कुछ सज धज कर कहीं जाने को प्रस्तुत थे। पूछने पर बताया कि वे भारतीय दूतावास की ओर रुखसार हैं। मैने पूछा कि “अब तो जनाब आप राष्ट्राध्यक्ष भी नहीं हैं और सेनाध्यक्ष भी नहीं,अब आपका भारतीय दूतावास में क्या काम?”
मुशर्रफ साहब ने हिप पाकेट में रिवाल्वर सहेजते हुये फरमाया कि “बन्धु अब सरकारी कारणों से नहीं,व्यक्तिगत कारणों से भारतीय दूतावास की ओर रुखसार हूं।” फिर खुलासा करते हुये कहा कि “भाई पाकिस्तान में भूतपूर्व राष्ट्रपति की कोई परम्परा नहीं है। यहां सिर्फ स्वर्गीय या निष्कासित राष्ट्राध्यक्ष की ही परम्परा है। अमेरीका की मेहरबानी से कितने दिन इस राष्ट्रीय परम्परा के विरुद्ध यहां टिक पाऊंगा। तुम्हारे यहां तो भूतपूर्व प्रधान मन्त्री जिसने अपना पांच वर्ष का कार्यकाल भी पूरा नहीं किया बीस साल बाद भी वार्षिक कम से कम दो करोड़ के सरकारी खर्च पर जिन्दा हैं। और इतना ही नहीं गाहे बेगाहे समाचार पत्रों में भी दिख जाता है।

मैंने कुतहूलता वश पूछा किस भारत के शहर में बसने का विचार कर रहें हैं। मुशर्रफ जी ने फरमाया , “भई तुम तो जानते ही हो कि हमारी पैदाइश ही दिल्ली की है तो वहीं बसेंगे।” मेरा अगला प्रश्न बड़ा अहम् था। मैने पूछा जनाब आप क्यों समझते हैं कि “आपको भारत वहां बसने की इजाजत दे देगा।” मुशर्रफ साहब मन्द मन्द मुस्कराये कहे ये अन्दर की बात है। मैंने राजदार बनने के प्रयास में कहा कि जनाब हम भी तो अन्दरवाले ही हैं हमें कौन जरदारी साहब या शरीफ़ साहब ने ISI में शामिल कर लिया है कि हमसे कुछ छूपाओ। अब ISI का नाम सुनने की देर थी कि मुशर्रफ साहब जी की बांछे खिल गयीं थीं। तब उन्होंने बड़े फख्र से पूरी बात का खुलासा किया।
अरे महाशय इसी ISI की वजह से ही तो हमारी नागरिकता की बात चल रही है। आपके राष्ट्राध्यक्ष हमारी ISI सम्बन्धित कार्यकुशलता से प्रभावित हो अपनी RAW में सलाहकर्ता के पद के लिये चुना है। अब हम भारत की RAW को भी ISI के समकक्ष अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय सशक्त संस्था में परिवर्तित कर देंगे। भविष्य में जितने फिदायीन हमले ये जरदारी और शरीफ काश्मीर में करवायेंगे उससे दोगुने RAW मेरी consultancy में सिन्ध, कराची और NWFP में करवाने में कामयाब होगा । इस क्षेत्र मेरा लोहा दुनिया और कम से कम भारत की सरकार तो पूरा मानती है।
और फिर कान में फुसफुसाते हुये कहा कि जब तुम अन्दर के आदमी ही हो तो एक बात और भी सुन लो कि समुचित तौर पर अगर देखा जाये तो मैं भारत के प्रधानमन्त्री पद के लिये भी कुछ कमजोर उम्मीदवार नहीं हूं।
कांग्रेस पार्टी के पास मनमोहन सिंह जी का कोई विकल्प नहीं हैं। सोनिया जी कदाचित उनके दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिये प्रस्तुत नहीं होंगी। और फिर मनमोहन सिंह जी भी मेरे मुकाबले कमजोर ही साबित होंगे। मैने पाकिस्तान को जिन परीस्थितियों में नौ वर्ष तक चलाया था मनमोहन जी नौ वर्ष तो क्या नौ महीने भी नहीं चला पाते। बुश को मैने जिस तरह नचाया है क्या आज तक भारत का कोई भी प्रधान मन्त्री नचा पाया है। नहीं। खैर अभी शुरुआत के लिये तो RAW के सलाहकार वाला पद ही ठीक है।
यहां तो सेना,सरकार या धर्मगुरुओं में से किसी न किसी ने तो खा ही जाना है। ये तो बाघ की सवारी कर रहा था कि उतरा नहीं और खेल खत्म।
अब तो जब भारत का वीसा मिल ही रहा है तो कह सकता हूं कि भारत में विदेशी मूल के लोगों में, मैं कोई अकेला ही तो प्रधान मन्त्री पद का उम्मीदवार नहीं हूं, स्क्रिप्ट में बहुत संभावनायें हैं दोस्त और पिक्चर अभी बाकी है ।
नींद खुली तो सोच रहा था कि राखी सावन्त का तो क्या दिखता पता नहीं लेकिन मुशर्रफ साहब के सन्दर्भ में उनकी हिप पाकेट की पिस्तौल आखिरी क्षणों तक दिख रही थी।

Terrorism in Pakistan

My last Blog was on India and Terrorism. Well I have been blaming Pakistan
a lot for several ills in India and Terrorism in India is a major issue in it.
There is another dimension to the whole issue.That is TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN.
Pakistan is worse victim of Terrorism as compared to India. Wikipedia says that the 90% of the world wide Islam based terrorism, has its root in Pakistan.
My take is that Pakistan started the Industry of TERRORISM as an Export Oriented Unit. They had emerged as the biggest exporter of Terrorism The foiled plane hijack in China was attempted by a Pakistani origin person, India /Kashmir and Afghanistan are their favourite hunting ground. In the 9/11 the Pakistani connection was very evident. Certainly Terrorism is their chief export to all countries.
Yet they have been caught offguard as they were unaware of a fundamental principal of Economics that for any E.O.U. to be successful its imperative that there is a larger domestic market for the said product.
And now the crows have come back to roost. The killer of Daniel Pearl was arrested in a bid to kill Musharrf. The number of Terrorist strikes in Pakistan is at least double as compared to India. It is all their own, homegrown industry. Their any attempt to pin it on RAW meets with international derision. There is no way that the Pak authorities could blame any external agency for the Lal Masjid Fiasco and several such others. It is their own EXPORT ORIENTED UNIT which faced with substantial rise in production is seeking a DOMESTIC MARKET.
Domestic market has certain advantages over international market, as any school level economics student would tell you. The market access is easier. The terrain is familiar. The risk element is considerably less. Whenever there is a glut (seasonal or otherwise) in the International market you can sell the surplus in the Domestic Market. Further basing on another basic principal of Physics that all movements happen along the path of least resistance , this Export Oriented Product was bound to reach the Domestic Market in a Big Way sooner then later.

भारत और आतंकवाद
भारत और आतंकवाद
कल बैंगलुरू आज अहमदाबाद कल पता नहीं कहां। तकरीबन छः महीने पहले पाकिस्तान में आम चुनाव के पश्चात काफी वर्षों के बाद गणतन्त्र की स्थापना की आशा बलवती हुई थी। अमूमन ऐसी एक धारणा बन रही थी कि गणतान्त्रिक पाकिस्तान भारत की विदेश एवं सुरक्षा नीति के लिये श्रेयस्कर साबित होगा। इस धारणा के पार्श्व में जो सोच काम कर रही थी वह यह थी कि थी कि पाकिस्तान अब सेना कि अपेक्षा आवाम की आवाज पर शासित होगा। सेना को अपना वर्चस्व बनाये रखने के लिये भारत से दुश्मनी बनाये रखना ,भारत के नाम पर दुःप्रचार कर एक हौवा खड़ा रखना एक आवश्यक प्रक्रिया थी।
अगर भारत का भय न होता तो आम पाकिस्तानी के मन में सेना के प्रति समर्पण या सम्मान या भय के भाव में ह्रास स्वाभाविक था।
आम चुनाव के पश्चात,गणतन्त्र की स्थापना के साथ ऐसा प्रतीत हो रहा था कि शायद अब भारत और पाकिस्तान के संबन्धों में सहजता आ पायेगी।

लेकिन हाल की घटनाओं ने यह भ्रम खण्डित कर दिया है। उपरोक्त सोच के विपरीत पिछले दिनों में आतंकवाद की छाया और लम्बी और काली हो गयी हैं। विगत कुछ महीनों की घटनाओं को अलग अलग नहीं ,बल्कि एक साथ जोड़ कर देखने की आवश्यकता है।
1) मई के महीने में जयपुर में धमाके
2) जम्मु और काश्मीर में अमरनाथ यात्रा का भुमि विवाद और उससे उपजा संकट
3) काबुल में भारतीय दुतावास पर हमला
4) हाल के बैंगलुरू और अहमदाबाद में हुये धमाके।
ये अलग अलग दिखने वाली घटनावों के तार आपस में जुड़े हुये हैं। अभी हाल में एक साथ इतनी घटनावों को अंजाम देने की एक वजह है पाकिस्तान की अन्दरुनी fluid सरकारी स्थिति। यह पाकिस्तान में गणतन्त्र का एक लम्बे समय के बाद प्रसव काल है। यह कोई normal डिलवरी भी नहीं हो रही है। इस में अमेरिका की भुमिका सिजेरीयन सर्जन की है।
फिर पाकिस्तान में ISI तो स्टेट के भीतर एक और स्टेट है। इस के अपने अलग agenda हैं एवं उस agenda की पुर्ति हेतू इसके निर्देशक भी गणतान्त्रिक तन्त्र से जुदा ही हैं।
यों तो भारत लगभग पिछले पच्चीस वर्षों आतंकवाद की विभीषिका झेल रहा है।पहले पंजाब में फिर काश्मीर, आसाम और उत्तर पूर्वी प्रान्तों में। अलग अलग स्थानों पर कारण भी अलग अलग रहें हैं।
सबसे भयावह चेहरा इस्लामिक आतंकवाद का रहा है। भारत में इस्लामिक आतंकवाद की शुरुआत काश्मीर से हुई। लेकिन आज इस्लामिक आतंकवाद काश्मीर से निकल सारे भारत में फैल चुका है। कुछ वर्ष पूर्व पाकिस्तान के ISI के प्रमुख ने कहा था कि भारत में हमारे पास हजारों की संख्या में स्लीपर एजेन्ट्स हैं। हमारे एक इशारे पर कुछ ही घन्टों के Notice पर वे भारत में कोहराम मचा सकने की क्षमता रखते हैं। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि मानो उन स्लीपर सेल्स को ISI ने हाल में activate कर दिया है।
मुद्दा है कि हम प्रत्युत्तर में क्या कर रहे हैं। अमेरीका में 9/11 के पश्चात आज तक सात वर्षों मे कोई भी आतंकवादी घटना नहीं घट पाई है। ऐसा नहीं है कि अमेरीका इस्लामिक आतकवादियों के निशाने से हट चुका है। तथ्य यह है कि काफी सारी सम्भावित घटनाओं को aspiration stage पर ही नष्ट कर दिया गया है। इन सब में उनका 2001 में पारित Patriot Act और उसके तहत उठाये हुये कदम काफी कारगर साबित हुये हैं।
हमारा पोटा कानून भी कुछ हद तक Patriot Act से मेल खाता है। Patriot Act में मुख्यतया सूक्ष्म तथा सतत surveillance और Ethnic Profiling ,Exhaustive Finger Printing आदियों के द्वारा वे संदिग्ध व्यक्तियों को कुछ कर पाने के पहले ही यानि aspirational level पर ही गिरफ़्तार कर पा रहे हैं।
हमारे पड़ोसी राष्ट्र की भुमिका हमेशा ही सन्दिग्ध रही है।विगत कुछ दिनों में एक तरफ जयपुर में बम के धमाके होते हैं,दूसरी तरफ पाकिस्तान तालिबान, भारत विरोधी शक्तियों से समझौता करता है। काश्मीर में मामूली सी जमीन के लिये सरकार गिर जाती है,उधर काबुल में भारतीय दूतावास में आक्रमण होता है। इन सबके कुछ ही दिनों के अन्दर बैंगलूरू व अहमदाबाद में धमाकों में पचास जानें जाती हैं।
विडम्बना यह है कि एक मेल आती है कि हम गुजरात का बदला ले रहे हैं। किसी भी समाज में हिंसा को कभी भी उचित नहीं ठहराया जा सकता। और फिर बदला भी किससे। क्या जो मुम्बई के बम धमाकों में मरने वालों की गुजरात के नरसंहार में कोई भी भूमिका थी। नहीं। यह सब दिग्भ्रम करने का प्रयास है। आतंकवाद का कोई सामाजिक कारण नहीं होता। भारत में पाकिस्तान द्वारा परिचालित एक गहरा षड़यन्त्र है। एक low intensity war है भारत को कमजोर बनाने के लिये। पोटा को खत्म किया गया क्योंकि उसका दुरुपयोग हो रहा था। भारत में CrPC का जितना दुरुपयोग हुआ है ,उसकी कल्पना भी नहीं की जा सकती। अगर मन में इमानदारी का अभाव होगा तो सारे कानूनों का दुरुपयोग होना स्वाभाविक है।
अब समय आ गया है कि हम soft state की परिभाषा से निकल hard state बनें। आज तक बन्दुकधारी आतंकवादी से बातों द्वारा कभी भी कहीं भी निबटा जा सका है,इसकी इतिहास में कोई मिसाल नहीं मिलती।
भारत की बहुधार्मिक एकता पाकिस्तान के वजुद के लिये एक प्रश्नचिन्ह है। आज भारत के सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति की श्रेणी में कम से कम एक तो मुस्लिम नाम भी है। भारत ने अब तक तीन मुस्लिम राष्ट्रपति चुने हैं। भारत में मुस्लिम मुख्य न्यायाधीश के पद पर आसीन हुये हैं। कई मुस्लिमों को भारत रत्न एवं अनेक अन्य पुरस्कार से नवाजा है।
बांग्लादेश का जन्म और इस जन्म में भारत की भुमिका,पाकिस्तान के लिये एक बहुत बड़ा जख्म है। और इसी जख्म को भरने या प्रतिकारस्वरुप उसने काश्मीर में बगावत फैलाने का काम किया। किसी भी समाज में असन्तुष्ट व्यक्ति खोज निकालने का काम बहुत क्या बिल्कुल भी मुश्किल नहीं है। भारत में लाखों की संख्या में मदरसे उनके लिये शिकारगाह बन गयी। Border राज्यों में मदरसे एक बड़े रुप में धार्मिक कट्टरता को बढ़ावा दे रहें हैं।
पैसे का लालच,आर्थिक रुप से तंगहाल व्यक्ति की सोच को खत्म कर देता है। और फिर उस में अगर जन्नत का लोभ, धार्मिक उन्माद का छौंक लग जाये तो स्लीपर एजेन्ट्स हजारों की संख्या में मिल जाना स्वाभाविक ही है।
कांग्रेस पार्टी हर ऐसे मौके पर गुजरात का राग बघारना शुरू कर देती है।मानो आम भारतीय मुसलमान यहाँ, आतंक फैलाने में सक्रिय हो। यह एक भयावह टिप्पणी है। इसके आधार पर तो यह समझा जा सकता है कि आज सारे भारतीय मुसलमान गुजरात के दंगों की प्रतिक्रिया में आतंकवादी हो गये हैं।
पाकिस्तान भली भांति समझता है कि वह भारत से सीधी लड़ाई लड़ने में अक्षम है। इसीलिये कुछ अपने नागरिक और कुछ भारतीय स्थानीय disgruntled elements को बहला-फुसला कर आतंकवाद के द्वारा भारत में एक Proxy युद्ध चला रहा है।कभी कभी नेतागण लोगों को बहला फुसला कर ताकि यथैस्थिति बनी रहे। कांग्रेस पार्टी को इस्लामिक दंगों के खिलाफ pro-active कदम उठाने से मुस्लिम वोटों के छिन का भय हो जाता है। इसलिये देश जाये भाड़ में, कुर्सी सही सलामत रहनी चाहिये। और इसके लिये अगर कुछ दंगे होते हैं,कुछ निर्दोष लोग मारे जाते हैं तो यह collateral damage hai या Strategic Cost है।

Why Islam does not need Raja Ram Mohan Rai

इस्लाम को राजा राम मोहन राय की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। क्यों?

क्योंकि फिटकरी रगड़ने से कैन्सर ठीक नहीं होता। उसके लिये शल्य चिकित्सा करनी पड़ती है।

हालंकि राजा राम मोहन राय उन्नीसवीं सदी के एक महान समाज सुधारक थे और उन्होंने आज से तकरीबन दो सौ वर्ष पहले समाज में जिन सुधारों के लिये संघर्ष किया ,वह एक अत्यन्त क्रान्तिकारी कदम था।

लेकिन मुद्दे की बात यह है कि हिन्दुत्व तो हमेशा से ही प्रगतिशील धर्म रहा है। अतएव हिन्दु समाज में परिवर्तन लाने के लिये राम मोहन राय जैसे एक सहज व्यक्ति का पदक्षेप ही काफी था।

लेकिन आज मुस्लिम समाज के सन्दर्भ में वही राजा राम मोहन राय अपने आपको सम्पूर्ण रुप से नकारा महसूस करेंगे । आज इस्लाम जिस दोराहे या चौराहे पर खड़ा है उसमें महज मरहम पट्टी नहीं आमूलचूल परिवर्तन की आवश्यकता है।

ईंट दर ईंट जोड़ एक बिल्कुल नया इस्लाम रचने की आवश्यकता है। इसीलिये आज के संदर्भ मे राजा राम मोहन राय नहीं इस्लाम को कमाल अततुर्क या Galileo जैसे शल्य चिकित्सक की आवश्यकता है। कमाल अतातुर्क ने सारे संभावित सुधारों के पहले सैन्यबल से सत्ता को अपने हाथों में लिया। हजरत मोहम्मद ने भी इस्लाम की नींव सत्ता और तलवार की मदद से ही रखी थी।

आज इस्लाम को Galileo की Heliocentric theory की भांति एक Complete Paradigm shift की आवश्यकता है। सतीप्रथा जैसे कुछ मामूली सुधारों से स्थिति में विशेष परिवर्तन की उम्मीद नहीं की जा सकती। इस्लाम के अनुयायियों को समझना होगा कि समाज की धुरी पंथ या पुस्तक से परे मानव है।

आज इस्लाम समाज जिस औषधि को जीवनदायी कह कर बांट रहा है वह सदियों पहले EXPIRE हो चुकी है। Expired औषधियां अक्सर जीवन दायिनी न होकर प्राणघातक सिद्ध होती रही हैं। जिहाद आतंक का पर्याय बन चुका है। विद्यामन्दिर के नाम पर मदरसों में क्या शिक्षा दी जा रही है यह हाल ही में पाकिस्तान में लाल मस्जिद में प्रमाणित हो चुका है। आज अगर कहीं पर राष्ट्रीय संविधान को शरीयत के अधीन किया जा रहा है तो सिर्फ औषधि ही नहीं डाक्टर की काबिलियत या नीयत पर से भी विश्वास उठ जाता है।

किसी भी पंथ या धर्म के दो मुख्य आधार होते हैं । पहला वह मानवतावादी हो एव दूसरा वह औचित्य की कसौटी पर खरा उतरे। हांलांकि हिन्दुत्व तो एकात्म मानवतावादी या Integral Humanism की बात करता है। जहां मानव सृष्टि का मालिक नहीं वरन् Trustee मात्र रह जाता है।

इस्लाम का जन्म सातवीं सदी में हुआ था। बारहवीं सदी तक आते आते इज्तेहाद यानि विश्लेषण पर प्रतिबन्ध लग चुका था। आज भी अगर कोई प्रश्न करे कि नमाज दिन मे पांच बार क्यों, चार बार या छः बार क्यों नहीं तो उसे धर्म विरोधी या Blasphemous करार दिया जायेगा। कुरान में जो कुछ जज्ब है उसके विषय में कोई भी प्रश्न करना एक बड़ा दण्डनीय अपराध है।

जिहाद के विषय में अक्सर कई सफाईयां पेश की जाती हैं यथा ये अपने अन्दर के युद्ध का पर्याय है। या कभी कभी इसे गीता के धर्म युद्ध के समकक्ष माना जाता है।

जिहाद पूर्णतया वाह्य युद्ध का नाम है। अक्सर नारे के स्वरुप कहा जाता रहा है कि चुंकि इस्लाम खतरे में है तो इस्लामी शक्तियों का युद्ध या जिहाद के लिये प्रत्यक्ष आह्वान आवश्यक है। अन्दर के युद्ध के लिये किसी आह्वान की आवश्यकता नहीं होती।

गीता का धर्मयुद्ध धर्म के साथ युद्ध था,या धर्म की स्थापना के लिये भी युद्ध था। धर्म के साथ युद्ध से तात्पर्य होता है कि युद्ध के साधारण नियमों का पालन,यथा भागते हुये शत्रु पर वार नहीं करना आदि। धर्म की स्थापना का अर्थ so called हिन्दु धर्म की स्थापना से परे सिर्फ औचित्य की स्थापना ही है। दुर्योधन का राज्य वापस नहीं करना द्युतक्रीड़ा की शर्तों की अवमानना था। तब क्षात्रधर्म या औचित्य की कसौटी पर युद्ध ही आवश्यक था।

इसमें किसी खास पंथ की स्थापना का कोई मुद्दा नहीं था।

आज आवश्यक है की इस्लामी शक्तियां एक नये सिरे से एक नये इस्लाम की संरचना करें। हाल ही में Bill Clinton ने कहा है कि अमेरीका में काफी कुछ गलत है लेकिन काफी कुछ सही भी है। और गलत कुछ इतना भी गलत नहीं है कि जो कुछ अमेरीका में अच्छा है उसकी मदद से उस गलत को ठीक नहीं किया जा सकता । इस्लामी शक्तियां अगर इमानदारी से इस्लाम की पुरी जद्दोजहद के साथ इज्तेहाद करें तो कोई कारण नहीं कि परिवर्तन असंभव है। लेकिन वैचारिक इमानदारी व पूर्ण विवेक आधारित इज्तेहाद पहला सोपान है इस प्रयास का।

इस्लाम को आवश्यकता है एक गैलीलियो की जो आध्यात्मिक टेलीस्कोप के माध्यम से इस्लामी शक्तियों को यह बता पाये कि सामाजिक सौरमंडल की धुरी मानवता है, इस्लाम नहीं। हिजाब या दाढ़ी में न तो दीन है, न ही ये इस सामाजिक सौरमंडल के कोई दिशासूचक नक्षत्र हैं। महज वेश-भूषा या वाह्याडम्बर से किसी दिशा का ज्ञान नहीं होता।

जो इस्लाम को नहीं मानते वे काफिर नहीं हैं। सिर्फ उनकी मान्यतायें अलग हैं।

आज के परिप्रेक्ष्य में इस्लाम के सन्दर्भ में कई प्रश्न सहज ही उठ खड़े हो रहे हैं। विश्व में तकरीबन् 57 इस्लामिक राष्ट्र हैं।

1) अधिकांश आर्थिक रुप से सबसे पिछड़े हुये हैं।

2) एक में भी गणतान्त्रिक सरकार नहीं है।

3) शिक्षा के मामले में आर्थिक रुप से सम्पन्न इस्लामी राष्ट्र यथा सउदी अरब भी काफी पिछड़ा हुआ है।

4) भारत में आठ सौ वर्षों के मुगलों के शासन के बाद भी भारत का मुस्लिम समाज अधिकांश क्षेत्रों में राष्ट्रीय औसत के लिहाज से काफी पिछड़ा हुआ है।

इस्लाम ने हमेशा अपने आपको एक वैश्विक विचार शक्ति या भूमन्डलीय मजहब के रुप मे प्रक्षेपित किया है। इस के बावजूद इस्लाम क्यों अपने ही अनुयायियों को सामाजिक न्याय दिला पाने अक्षम रहा है?

आज सउदी अरब का Reformer Wahabism ,Pertro Dollars के मद में आतंक की भाषा बोलने लगा है। आज विश्व में अधिकांश आतंकवादी घटनाओं के पार्श्व में इस्लामी शक्तियों का हाथ पाया जा रहा है। कहीं किसी पुस्तक या कार्टुन के एवज में हत्या की धमकी और फतवा, कहीं वन्देमातरम के गाये जाने पर फतवा। इसे excusivism या अलगाववाद की संज्ञा दी जाती है।

आज इस्लाम समाज की प्रथम द्वितीय व दस तक की प्राथमिकता शिक्षा ही होनी चाहिये। आज की आधुनिक शिक्षा जहाँ मानवता वाद सब मजहबों से उपर हो। टैगौर के शब्दों में

“Where the head is held high and mind is without fear, May my nation awake”

Why there are no Raja Ram Mohun Rais in Islam:

Hinduism is riddled with several ills. One which has been most often held against is casteism. We have had Sati Pratha as a bane and several such other blots.
The invigorating thing is that there have been several saints or thinkers who have revolted against centuries of sacred beliefs, challenged them and got the same eradicated or at substantially curbed. Best thing is nearly all such saints were venerated and held in high esteem.
Obviously they did have to face resistance from the established system, yet they were seldom persecuted or hounded by established system such as church in the case of Galileo or Darwin.
Most of them became famous and honourable in their life time alone. When in 8th Century Adi Shankaracharya spoke against blind faith and professed questioning Brahma himself, no one tried to hound him into silence. He was as much a revolutionary as Jesus Christ yet he was held sacred and not crucified. For his questioning of Brahma’s existence he could had been declared a heretic and hanged. No, he was able to establish FOUR Peeths or four centres of excellence where people could go and study his concept of Vedantic Hinduism.
Yet Hinduism is portrayed as an obscurantist religion and Islam and Christianity egalitarian and youthful or modern religion.
Islam was founded about Fourteen Centuries back. It is certainly the latest version of an inspiration, which is the principal objective of a religion. Yet the society has changed a lot in last fifty years let aside Fourteen Hundred Years. Any dead institution or book should not be allowed to remain an authority upon human behavior for such a long period, unless open to reinterpretation, continuous subjected to intensive questioning, and suitable amendment. A stagnant society/Religion can not claim MODERNHOOD.
I have been wondering as to why there have been no Raja Ram Mohan Rais in Islam. Why no Dayanand Saraswati.
The answer is that Hinduism is a progressive religion which has no qualms about admitting its mistakes and making amends. Sati pratha was wrong, society accepted law that no one can even worship any diety as Sati. The concept was declared Impious and the person who was responsible for obtaining such declaration was a Hindu alone.
While Gandhi was fighting against Casteism, he became a very respected figure. No Hindu saints or thinkers issued any FATWA against him.
A person like Charvak who refused to cognize God was accepted as a RISHI.
A Religion is nothing but a process of thought to inspire oneself to manifest his best self. An individual’s intellect is the only valid prism to refract the inspiration and define one’s Dharma. No dead institution can have privy over his consciousness.
Sadly Islam is a religion which has a central edict “Not to question”. No research’s permissible. Any fresh interpretation or diagnosis is beyond the permitted liberties. An unquestionable doctrine is nothing but a blindfold. No one ever has become a Reformer with blindfolded eyes.
The Reformers or the people who tried to bring about change became Pariahs. The founder of Sufi sect was butchered mercilessly. Ahmediyas have been declared heretics and are subject to regular large scale assassination in Pakistan. Wahabis the so called reformers are speaking the language of terrorism.
Church hounded Galileo for his heliocentric theory. Charles Darwin was a persecuted man. The only incident of stoning of a saint in Hinduism was that of Charvak for his Godlessness. And he said not respecting opposite views would cause decline of ones religion. Ultimately he was declared a Rishi.

चुनाव की सुगबुगाहट फिर फ़िज़ाओं में है। कांग्रेस की तरफ से प्रधान मन्त्री के पद के दावेदार के नाम के विषय में एक बार फिर अटकलें लग रहीं हैं।
पिछले चुनाव में आखिरी दिन तक सोनिया जी प्रधान मन्त्री की पद की दावेदार थी। आखिरी क्षणों में उन्होंने तथाकथित महानता का परिचय देते हुये प्रधान मन्त्री की कुर्सी को ठुकरा दिया। इसकी प्रतिक्रिया अलग अलग हलकों में अलग प्रकार की हुई। कांग्रेसियों ने इसे महानतम त्याग की संज्ञा दी। विपक्ष ने कुछ और पहलू रखे। एक जम्हूरे की सोच इस सन्दर्भ में कुछ इस प्रकार थी।
सोनिया गान्धी के प्रधान मन्त्री पद को अस्वीकार करने के पार्श्व में शोले फिल्म थी। जम्हूरे का मानना था कि सोनिया जी को प्रधान मन्त्री की कुर्सी कि ओर अग्रसर होते वक्त अचानक शोले फिल्म का एक सीन याद आ गया और उन्होने इस पद को स्वीकार करने से इन्कार कर दिया।
शोले फिल्म में एक सीन है जहां गब्बर सिंह ने वीरु को बान्ध रखा है। बसन्ती भी उसके कब्जे में है। गब्बर बसन्ती से नाचने के लिये कहता है। बसन्ती के मना करने पर गब्बर उसे
कहता है कि “ जब तक तेरी पायल बजेगी, तब तक तेरे यार की सांस चलेगी”। और बसन्ती अपने प्रेमी की जान बचाने के लिये नाचने लगती है।
सोनिया जी भी जब प्रधान मन्त्री की कुर्सी की तरफ अग्रसर हो रहीं थीं तो हठात उन्हें इस सीन की याद आ गयी। उन्होंने सोचा कि ‘वहां तो एक गब्बर था यहां तो गब्बरों की पुरी जमात है और इतने सारे गब्बर यथा लालु, करात आदि के सामने बसन्ती (खुद) की तो क्या कहते हैं की वाट लग जायेगी।’ बेहतर है कि बसन्ती स्वरुप सरदार मनमोहन सिंह को खड़ा कर दो पायल बजाने के लिये और खुद नेपथ्य में खड़े हो कर सिर्फ चौकस लगाम थामे रखो। बेचारा प्रधानमन्त्री पायल बजाये, नाचे, गब्बर सिंह से बदन नोचवाये और सोनियाजी शासन का proxy में आनन्द भोगें। उसी क्षण उस बेचारे को गरीब की गाय सा डाल दिया भुखे गब्बरों के बीच पायल बजाने को। प्रधानमन्त्री का पद खैरात में पाने का शायद विश्व में यह पहला अवसर होगा।
बाकी कांग्रेस गण भी इस मुद्दे को भली भांति भांप रहे थे। सोनिया जी अगर अन्य किसी राजनीतिक व्यक्ति को प्रधानमन्त्री पद सौंप देती तो नरसिंह राव की भांति वह उन्हें किनारे पर बैठा देता। बेचारे प्रोफेसर मनमोहन सिंह नगरपालिका का चुनाव तक तो जीत नहीं सकते । इस हालत में कदाचित वो सोनिया जी की राजनीतिक यात्रा में कोई आशंका या खतरे की वजह नहीं बन सकते थे। खैर बिल्ली के भाग से छींका टूट भी गया।
आज जब लगभग पांच वर्ष पूरे होने को हैं छींके को टूटे और एक बार राज्याभिषेक की तैयारियां सर पर हैं तो फिर गणतन्त्र का वेताल फिर वही प्रश्न लेकर एक बार फिर उपस्थित है कि इस बार कौन? भाजपा ने अपनी तरफ से अडवानी जी का नाम आगे बढाया है। दूसरी पार्टी जिसके विषय में भी संभावनायें हैं वह है कांग्रेस। तो अब युवराज का नाम उठना स्वभाविक ही था। नहीं तो पार्टी में फूट पड़ जानी की पूरी तैयारियां हैं। अर्जुन सिंह काफी दिनों से अपने घाव सहला रहे हैं। प्रणब मुखर्जी तो पिछले पच्चीस वर्षों से कतार मे हैं।
तो भाइयों इस जम्हूरे की मानें तो इस बार या तो युवराज को बिगुल फूंक ही देना चाहिये। या फिर चतुर्दिक ऐय्यार दौड़ायें जायें , विज्ञापन छपवावें जायें और फिर कोई नचनिया बसन्ती को खोजा जाये । विज्ञान का मजमून कुछ इस प्रकार को हो। “चाहिये है एक नचनिया बसन्ती प्रधानमन्त्री पद के लिये, जो नाचे और पायल बजाये, गब्बर को रिझाये लेकिन उसके संग रास न रचाये।”। तो भाइयों और बहनों ,देशभक्तों और कद्रदानों देश के लिये कुछ करने का वक्त आ गया है। ढुंढिये एक ऐसी बसन्ती प्रधानमन्त्री पद के लिये।

एक समय था
जब मेरे शब्दों में थी
ठाकुर के हाथों सी ताकत
वो उठते तो
समय के ज्वार को
किनारे पर थाम लेते
हर अभिमानी के
अभिमान को
नकेल पकड़ कर
जमींदोज कर देते
और मैं बड़े फ़ख्र से कहा करता
समय,
बहुत ताकत है इनमें
ये शब्दजाल
महज कविता नहीं
फौलाद की जंजीरें हैं।

आज परिवार के मोहपाश ने
स्वार्थ के तिमिर ने
व्यवस्था के उत्कोच ने
गब्बर सा काट दिया है
मेरे बाजुओं को

मैं बाजुरहित
अवश्य , लेकिन लाचार नहीं
फिर से ढुंढ रहां हूं
गब्बर को
गब्बर ने अब अपना ठिकाना बदल लिया है
वह आजकल रामगढ़ के बीहड़ में नहीं
राजधानी में रहता है।

मैं अपनी छोटी सी तूती ले
उतरा हूं
नगाड़ों के कोलाहल के बीच
तूती को
अपनी
आवाज को अन्जाम देने के लिये
आकार या लम्बाई नहीं
वरन
चाहिये होती है
बजाने वाले की
गज़ भर की छाती
और उसके दो गजी फेंफड़ों में
बन्द गर्म हवा।
वो तो है मेरे पास
मुझे नहीं चाहिये
इस सामाजिक व्यवस्था से
कोई भारत रत्न
मुझे अपने परिचय के
मान चिन्ह ढुंढने हैं
स्कूल जाते
एक आदिवासी बच्चे
की मुस्कान में
एक ग्रामीण अबला के
सर पर
सजे स्वाभिमान के
आंचल में
उस वीरु और जय के साहस में
जिसने अब गब्बर के कुत्तों
को रोटी देने से मना कर दिया हो।
